Opening Ceremonies is 3 days away and we’re already starting to see the symptoms of Olympic Fever at our house. It starts out with chills, increased heart rate and can sometimes be a butterfly in your stomach or a knot in your throat. There is a sleep depravity commonly associated with Olympic Fever, esp. if you happen to be in a different time zone then where the games are being held. This terrible fever is usually exposing it’s raw symptoms during the crucial part of a race or event. So, we’ve checked into the recommended treatment and found the perfect medicine! Olympic Cupcakes!!

Supplies;
Cupcakes (any flavor)
Icing and candy(white and any other colors desired for your favorite flag)
Olympic Pictures (you can copy these Olympic logos directly onto your computer! Just click and save!)
Toothpicks
Tombow Glue Stick
Scissors

1- Print out 48 PROOF pictures of the Olympic Logo. Most computers have a setting to just print out a proof sheet. (Cut into 1” strips)
2- Cut pictures into sets of 2 and using your Glue Stick on the back, fold 1 toothpick into the center and fold. Let dry.
3- Have each of the kids choose the country they are rooting for during their Olympics and decorate COUNTRY FLAGS onto the cupcakes with frosting/candy. This was my favorite part. It was hilarious the things they came up with and surprising how many flags they recognized. “This is the Bonjour flag”, “This is the Kung Fu Panda flag”, “This flag means spaghetti”… It made SO MANY FUN MOMENTS for this Mom!
4- Insert Olympic flags into cupcake and enjoy while you are cheering on your country’s best athletes in their run for Olympic Glory!

*side effects may occur. Which may include, but are not limited to, increased heart rate at the end of a race or event, watery eyes at metal ceremonies, drowsiness the day after a late night event, and chills. If symptoms persist we recommend making more cupcakes! Let the games begin!
