Spring Break at our house is in full swing and of course I have tons of projects to keep my munchkins busy. Thankfully, a few friends joined in the fun which always surprisingly makes it easier to teach the kids. Earth Day is Thursday so we had to pull something inspired by nature and since it was all about the girls today the only nature inspired thing they were willing to come up with was flowers! Easy enough, what girl doesn’t love flowers?!
Supplies;
Felt Scraps
Small Buttons
Needle and Thread
Hair Clips
MONO AQUA Liquid Glue
1. Have the kids cut out two small (about 1-1 1/2 inch) circles out of coordinating felt. It doesn’t have to be perfect, nor do they have to match up. translation? perfect for little hands!
2. (grown-ups) cut felt in a spiral pattern starting on the outside and working inward until you have a circle about the size of your button. I like to cut the two out together so the spirals match somewhat.
3. The kids can add a few dabs of MONO AQUA liquid Glue to attach the two layers and roll the strips of felt around the center moving outward and keeping the ends up a bit. Add Glue to the ends. It helps for the kids to see it actually done in person first but, once they get a visual, they catch on quick!
4. Add button and let dry (about 15 mins. although for the kids it felt like an eternity… so we just made more!)
5. Attach with a needle and thread (for durability) to a favorite headband or hair clip. Let dry completely and enjoy!

These are so super cute!
Adorable – too bad my little girl is too grown up for things of this nature!
These are just too cute. Can’t wait to try it with my daughter. Thanks for the great idea.
Those are gorgeous..if only my daughter would leave clips in her hair.
Absolutely adorable! What a fun project for my little girl!
