Creating With the ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Marker Fashion Palette 12-Pack

Hi everyone! It’s Mandy from @a_heartened_calling here to show you what you can create using the ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Marker Fashion Palette Pack 12-Pack!

This palette is THE perfect choice to create any type of fashion illustration. The colors included can literally create any article of clothing and accessory, as well as figures, heads and hair. To begin, let’s break down what’s in this palette!

The Fashion Palette includes 12 ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Markers. These markers have both a brush tip and a chisel tip. The chisel tip is great to fill in larger areas of color. The brush tip is great for smaller detailed areas as well as blending and layering with other colors. One of the great things about alcohol-based markers is that you can use one color just by layering that same color over and over again. Even though there is only one green color in this palette, you can continue to layer color in certain areas to create a darker green.

The colors included in this palette are P177 Dark Jade, P526 True Blue, P535 Cobalt Blue, P606 Violet, P772 Blush, P847 Crimson, P879 Brown, P910 Opal, P992 Sand, PN95 Cool Grey 1, PN45 Cool Grey 10 and PN15 Black. To create hair and skin tones, you can use P879, P910, P992, PN95, PN45 and PN15. To create clothing and accessories, you can use all the colors!

Let’s take a look at what I created using this palette.

CLOTHING

Creating jeans is pretty easy with this palette. Simply use P526 as a base layer. Then add P535 on top in a flicking motion. Make sure to leave areas of P526 visible. I also left a little white in the leg area to represent a white washed look.

For the skirt, I used P772 and focused on layering lots of color in certain areas to show how a shadow can be created.

White pants are also very easy to create! Simply use a MONO Drawing Pen to sketch the outline of the pants and then use PN95 to add shadow to certain areas of the pants. It’s a neat little trick!

FIGURES

Figures are also easy to create with this palette. For the figure on the left, I used P910 as a base layer for the skin and used P992 to add contour. I used P177 to create the top. I layered color repeatedly in certain areas to create a shadow. For the skirt, I used a base layer of PN45 and then added PN15 to the top. I layered color repeatedly on the inside of the skirt creating a darker shadow. I used PN15 for the boots and P879 for the hair.

For the figure on the right, I used P879 as a base layer for the skin and then added layers of this same color to create contour. For the dress, I used P606 and layered color repeatedly in certain areas to create shadow and depth around the dress. For the hair, I used P879 as a base layer and then used PN15 on top creating curls.

ACCESSORIES

Accessories are limitless with this palette. I chose to create a hat here but you can also create shoes, sunglasses, purses, hair ties, etc.

To create this illustration, I used P992 as the base layer for the skin. For the hair, I used P879 as a base and PN15 on top to create tight curls. For the hat, I used P847 and then layered color repeatedly in certain areas to create a shadow.

The ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Marker Fashion Palette 12-Pack is a great tool to have as an artist! Even if you don’t create fashion illustrations, you could use this palette to create florals, patterns, architecture, food illustrations, doodles, lettering and more!  These markers are for sure a must have!
