Hi there!  The hustle and bustle of Christmas may be over, but things sure aren’t slowing down much around here.  Last Wednesday was the first time I enjoyed a day of working in my studio.  I am busy, busy preparing projects for January.
To help me keep on track, I decided to decorate a calendar that I had picked up in the office supplies department at Walmart.
I started by covering the spine of the calendar with some distressed dot print paper from Memory Box.  I used Tombow’s Permanent Stamp Runner to attach all of the cardstocks to the cover of the calendar.  The main background print is from October Afternoon (I think).  The chipboard letters for the word “calendar” were just plain white and I used a Tombow Dual Brush Pen in Orange to color the letters to match perfectly.  Love that!  Did you know that you can use the Dual Brush pens to color match many items to coordinate with whatever project you are working on?  Too cool!
I didn’t do too much to the inside of the calendar as I need lots of space to keep track of my projects and upcoming classes, but I did add some of the Tombow Permanent Stamp Runner to the back of some rick rack trim and used it to cover the space where the two prints matched on the inside cover.
I used two coordinating Dual Brush Pens to add the month name and some doodles to the bottom of the page.  Don’t mind the teeth marks on the lid of the orange pen, a few years ago my dog thought it might be a fun chew toy.

Supplies: Tombow Dual Brush Pens: 026, 055, 685, 725, 835, 985, N15, Tombow Glue Pen, Tombow Foam Tabs, Tombow Power Adhesive Tabs, Tombow Dot Adhesive Stamp Runner, Rubber Stamps: Penny Black – 4183K Sparkle, 40-049 Majestic Composition, Penny Black Mix & Match Cardstock: Fuchsia Fantasies 13-003. Other Materials: Watercolor Paper, Black Pigment Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, Crystal Glitter, Magnet, Heat Tool, Paintbrush, Scissors

Stamp flower twice with black pigment ink on watercolor paper and heat emboss with clear powder. Trim one complete flower and the center of the second flower.

Color images by applying marker ink to a plastic palette and transferring with a damp paintbrush. After the coloring has been completed, run a black (N15) Tombow Dual Brush Pen along the cut edges.

Stamp the flower on the white side of the fuchsia cardstock and trim.

Turn the flower over and stamp the decorative background by applying ink from the Dual Brush Pen (685) directly to the rubber stamp. Lightly “huff” on the ink, stamp the image and trim. Lay the trimmed flower fuchsia side down and use the stamped image facing up as a guide to align the water colored flower on top. Apply adhesive from the Stamp Runner and adhere the two images together. Apply Foam Tabs to the center embellishment and attach to the flower. Add dots of adhesive from the Tombow Glue Pen to the center of the flower and sprinkle with crystal glitter. Tap off excess glitter.

Attach a Power Adhesive Tab to a magnet.

Attach the magnet to the back of the flower.

Create decorative note paper by inking the decorative background stamp with a Tombow Dual Brush Pen and stamp on light-weight cardstock.
