Posts from ‘Scrapbook Layouts’
To keep up the Party from this week I made a layout of my daughter’s first birthday but not the actual birthday. Is a picture of her at the store picking the theme of the birthday and if you haven’t guessed we picked Minnie Mouse.
For the title I used the 1 candle of the Cricut Sweet Treats Cartridge and the font is from the All Mixed Up Cartridge. Most of the patterned papers are from Momenta.
For the doodling I used Tombow Markers and I also used them on the candle flame and I used the blending marker.
This cute girl and the balloon is from the Paper Dolls Everyday Cartridge and I made the ears with the Paper Dolls Dress Up Cartridge and my Gypsy. For her face I used Peachy Keen Stamps and for her hair I used Tombow Markers and the blending marker. I also doodle the balloon the with the markers. I embossed the little girl dress and I inked it.
This cupcake is from Sweet Treats. I embossed the cupcake wrapper and I used glitter glue on the candle.

it’s always good to give yourself a challenge. in my “anything but a card” challenge i created a layout. yup. love the feeling of completing a layout. i have so many pictures that i want to scrapbook, but sometimes i just need a PUSH to get them done. give yourself a challenge, see what you can accomplish.
this layout has pictures from a Braves game my son and i went to last september. i was the “coolest mom”! it was a date, and he was spoiled…i admit it. with the pattern papers it ended up busier than i normally do, but that was part of my challenge too.
the “paper ribbon” looking strips were punched with border punches and then adhered down with Tombow MONO Adhesive Dots. this is the best adhesive for this kind of embellishment, because you can always rub off the excess adhesive. love my dots!

we’ve had this conversation before…
you start a project, you have a vision in mind….and the end result is totally unexpected!
such is true of my “surprise” layout today. i had a picture clipped from an old Creating Keepsakes magazine and loved the idea of a fold out for lots of similar pictures.
over the last few days i’ve come across several of my son’s baseball wallet-sized pictures. i wanted a place to keep all of them together, so i started on a little fold-out book.
then i put it on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock with a typed note, but then i found a few more pictures that went along with my note… but then i ran out of room on the smaller paper, so i put the 12 x12 red behind it.
the whole thing kind of evolved, cutting slits behind the journaling to add a strip of baseball pattern paper and a baseball die-cut, adding stars with numbers to label the seasons in the fold-out book.
sometimes it just happens that way.
i used Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive Runner on the pictures and the paper. except for the stars, which i used Tombow MONO Aqua. i love using the aqua when i have “paper piecing/small bits” to stick down. and lastly, i used Tombow MONO Adhesive Powerbond on the booklet – to adhere the back fold to the scrapbook layout.
here are some pictures of the details…
well…what are you waiting for? go get crafting, and surprise yourself with what you can create! and i’m off to find the rest of those pictures!

paper and stickers that are coordinated for me are the perfect solution for getting scrapbook layouts done quickly and effortlessly. Echo Park’s papers did not disappoint! i loved creating so many different looks with the same paper line. sometimes, pictures just need to be scrapped and when that sometime happens, i hope you have Echo Park around to play with. i had some time, and in 3 days i managed to complete 5 layouts…. take a look!
here’s a closer look at some of the details and the Tombow adhesives i used… on the “easter” layout i took the yellow sticker frame from the Echo Park letter sticker sheet, added Tombow Foam Tabs all the way around, sprinkled it with baby powder (to neutralize the adhesive on the sticker), then cut it at the corners and reassembled it to create a border around my pictures. once i had it where i wanted it i took the backing off the Tombow Foam Tabs and stuck it down.
on the “chinese tea” layout I used Tombow PowerBond to create a pleated border for the main picture. I also used the Tombow Glue Pen to place a few gems that needed to be strategically placed as well as adding pattern paper to the back of clear buttons. and to add a button to the center of one of the flower stickers.
for all the other layouts I used Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive Runner.

Hello everyone! I’m Kim Watson & I am so happy to be here on the Tombow blog as a Guest Designer today.
Since discovering Tombow’s adhesive range about three years ago, I have become a HUGE fan & always have a bunch of their products on hand. So given that I tend to use a variety of different adhesive types in a single project I thought you might enjoy a peek at how I put a page together from Start-to-Finish using product from the June Cocoa Daisy kit, Cherry Soda & Tombow.
My paper layers are always adhered with MONO Multi Liquid Glue because I love how fast it dries. However if I am still shuffling elements around it is great thatMONO Multi Liquid Glue has the versatility of being removable if allowed to ‘tacky’ dry first.
MONO Adhesive Dots, Roller is also a great adhesive to attach photographs.
I needed extra height on my cut out flower accents, NEW Foam Tabs, were perfect to do this. Coming in two square sizes meant getting a couple into the small areas was a cinch.
More MONO Multi Liquid Glue for my paper tabs…

The page now almost complete, just needed a few finishing touches. MONO Aqua Liquid Glue was perfect for these. Fabric flowers, buttons & some metal accents.
Voila! A pretty page that wouldn’t have come together quite the same without Tombow’s adhesive.
Enjoy…..Kim….

i have been slightly consumed with the idea of sewing a quilt. i have never done it, and my husband is better on the sewing machine than i am…but nonetheless, it is something i really want to try. i think the funnest part is going to be picking out the fabrics i want to use. i know this is all going to take some planning, a few trips to the fabric store, some trial and error, and a few rounds with the sewing machine. i don’t expect to put it together in one night, but the desire to “quilt” is at the forefront of my mind.
so when trying to decide about how to present something that i consider a “favorite” i remembered my drawer full of paper scraps. when i use a piece of paper i like i hold onto every bit of the remainder that i can. some of the scraps i have held onto for a very long time. almost embarrassingly long! so i pulled out the drawer and started to sift through it all. i pulled out the scraps that i liked the best and to my surprise i found several recurring themes…
so here is my run-down on my favorite styles of paper
* cardstock, but mostly textured cardstock
* pattern paper that can be used for many different themes or purposes.
* the colors turquoise, brown, green, and …..pink? didn’t see that one coming!
* small prints - flowers & polka-dots
*stripes, but i typically use them only vertical
* i frequently buy paper from the same manufacturers
my layout here is an attempt at a quilt…until i give a real one a try.
i grabbed a brown 12×12 piece of cardstock.
then i used a scrap piece of white and cut 1/2″ strips. i mitered the corners by laying them over one another, as i would want them on my page, then cut them corner to corner. separate them, then match up the cut corners. this will be a border within to put all the “quilted” squares.
cut squares to go inside the quilt 1 7/8th “. the odd size is to allow for a border around each square once it is glued down inside the white border.
i didn’t know exactly how i wanted all the squares laid out, so i used the Tombow Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. the stamping action of this applicator was great for the small squares. the dot adhesive is very forgiving and allows paper to be moved from one position to another without tearing the background.
last i covered a library pocket, picked up from a teacher supply store, with more scraps, and then cut a tag from brown paper, with another piece of scrap for the tab at the top.
so, are you sucker like i am when it comes to pattern paper? now i’m wondering if it is a smart idea for me to go fabric shopping…i may go a little overboard!
I am a long time fan of Tombow adhesives. One of my favorites that you can usually find in my adhesive basket is the Permanent MONO Dots Adhesive –
I used this, and a couple other Tombow adhesives on my page that I’m sharing with you today. I’ll start by showing you a fun masking and stamping technique using the Tombow Foam Tabs.
Use tweezers to arrange the Tombow foam mini tab squares into a checkerboard pattern on a scrap piece of cardstock. Just lightly place the squares. Don’t press down on them. Peel off the backing paper so the adhesive is exposed.

Mist with your favorite spray ink.

Now use the foam adhesive checkerboard as a stamp on another
scrap of cardstock. Be sure to use a light touch when stamping your
checkerboard pattern.

You now have two checkerboard patterns to use on your project, but first let’s remove the Foam Tabs from the misted paper.
Gently pull the Foam Tabs from your cardstock.

If some of the adhesive stays behind simply rub it off gently with your fingertip.

I used MONO Aqua Liquid Glue to adhere a felt photo corner to my main photo. This glue works great with felt!

I love the texture that crumpled paper adds to a project, but sometimes it becomes difficult to adhere after crumpling it. Permanent MONO Dots Adhesive does a great job of keeping it in place.

I also used some of the Foam Tabs to pop up some of the photos and accents on my page for extra dimension.
Thanks for checking out my project!

It’s not an easy task to design an album for a boy, but even harder is an album for a teenager or young adult. Teresa Collins’ new “On the Edge” collectionis perfect for this task, and it’s made easier with the wide range of embelishments and paper designs.
Teresa Collins, On the Edge Collection; Decorative double-sided papers, decorative brads, chipboard & die-cut elements, trim and album covers
Tombow, Dot Adhesive Stamp Runner, Foam Tabs, Tombow Correction Tape
Details on the cover include; white distressed boarders created with correction tape. Simply apply the correction tape to the edges and then scratch and distress with an art knife.
The pages are created with one 4” x 4” photo per page. They all use the same basic layout with a variety of ‘On the Edge‘ embellishments. I especially loved the ‘On the Edge Words’ paper that provided the headings for each page. The paper layers and photographs are attached using the Dot Adhesive Stamp Runner. Many of the embellishments are attached using the Foam Tabs to create dimention. The Foam Tabs are a strong adhesibve that will not crush down flat.
