this week’s blog hop allowed me the opportunity to stretch my creative juices and take these fun stickers past just paper and try using them in a different way.
and added a bow to the top of the ornament and tied on some gold cording. the result is an outline of the image, that allows light through, and glows when it hangs on the Christmas tree. and i love it!

We are three days away from Christmas, can you believe it?!
But before the year is over we got to play with stickers from Elizabeth Crafts which are very versatile, fun, cool and they work perfect with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
For my first card I used some of Marie’s Tips on Monday, isn’t she a genius?! After I used the sticker to color the negative space I cleaned it a bit with a wipe or dry cloth and stuck it behind the strip I made. For the sentiment I used a rubber stamp with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens and then added a tiny bit of water with a water mister and it worked gorgeous because it made it darker in a few corners like a shadow but it covered evenly. I also used the Tombow Dual Brush Pens for the Faux Stitching. In case you didn’t noticed *the Tombow Dual Brush Pens work for coloring, rubber stamping, doodling and calligraphy. They would make the perfect gift for that special crafty person in your life. I know I love mine because they amp up every project I make.
On my second card I went Springy, I know is Winter but I don’t do so well with winter temperatures and I can’t wait for Spring. These bird stickers are the cutest!! I wanted to make a little scene based on the sentiment which says “Follow Your Dreams” in Spanish. I took simple white frame and I stamped my sentiment there and then I doodled the border to spice it up and I did the same to the leaves. When I glued the leaves with my Mono Multi Liquid Glue I just applied glue to one point on the leaf under the branch and bent the other to give it some dimension. For the clouds I used Tombow Foam Tabs and for the bird I stacked two Foam Tabs together.
Doing the mask technique with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens was really fun, I hope to try it again soon!!

This week Tombow is teaming up with the fine folks at Walnut Hollow to share some incredible altered projects. In case you have missed any of them you can find them here: Debbie, Sarah, and Jennie. Aren’t those girls talented?
I was thrilled to receive this Tissue Box to work with. I knew I wanted to create a tissue box that would be used for the holidays so I took my inspiration from my Christmas decorations. My tree is decorated in aqua, teal, white, silver and a touch of lime green. I replaced the lime green with some pretty purples for this project.
I started by giving the naked box a coat of gesso to prime it and then set it aside to dry. Once the gesso was good and dry I added a coat of Martha Stewart glitter paint in Aqua. Guess what? The paint was transparent and although the glitter was pretty and shimmery, you could barely see the color over the gesso.
Hmmm, this got me thinking so I pulled out some of my Tombow Dual Brush markers and scribbled randomly onto the sides of the box with a few colors and then spritzed with a fine mist of water. I moved the box from side to side allowing the inks to run and blend together.
After it dried, it still needed something so I wadded up some white tissue paper, tore it and set about covering each side of the box by laying down a layer of Tombow Mono Aqua Adhesive first and then the torn pieces of the tissue. The adhesive dries clear and leaves a nice finish to the box. Once this was completely dry I started building my poinsettia floral spray.
I used Tombow Power Tabs to attach the floral spray pieces and
Tombow Foam Tabs for stacking and attaching the flower to the box. I stamped several images from the Printworks poinsettia stamp onto 140# cold press watercolor paper and embossed with silver powder. I water colored the flowers with Tombow Dual Brush markers. The top of the box was finished off with some dew drops.

i have two children, and i have taught many little ones, so this is a common occurrence. i would gladly use a solution to crawling on my hands and knees picking the game pieces up off the floor.
to decorate the box i started by using a Tombow Dual Brush Pen to color the wood on the top of the box brown. it took several coats, using the scroll brush tip. i used Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue to adhere pattern paper to the inside and outside of the box. i love using this glue for altering! then i cut felt to fit inside the bottom of the box. i placed Tombow Power Tabs around the edges and throughout the middle to give the felt a good secure hold.

This week we got to play with the new line from Fancy Pants Oct 31 which was a great opportunity for me to scrapbook the Halloween pictures I had left from last year. It was my daughter’s first Trick or Treat. This line has a lot of purple which went great with her Princess Jasmine costume.
The first page is Magic and for the purple I used Bewitched.
The second page I used was Night and I used Rusty Hinge Distress Ink for the border.
In this double layout I tried clustering the products and I really liked how it turned out.
In this part I used the Cards page, Alpha Stickers, Rub Ons (shoe) and Chipboard Elements (hats).
This is from the Cards page and I used the Oct 31 Rub On. Under the card I used a chipboard sticker and above the card I did some doodling with the Tombow Groovy Dual Brush Pen Set.
These are chipboard stickers and one of them is a journaling spot.
Those white swirls is a Rub On, it worked great on the picture. The purple shape is a big cut from Gypsy Wanderings and I used Dusty Concord Distress Ink around it. I also used Tombow Groovy Dual Brush Pen Set to outline the shape.
I used the chipboard stickers and I overlapped Fancy Pants buttons and I used floss to tie the buttons together.
In this card I used glitter glue and I mated the card with the Magic sheet. Below the card I used a Rub On I also did some matting with the Night sheet.
On the Night sheet I used Glossy Accents and glitter glue to make the lamp stand out.

it’s my favorite time of the month! blog hop time. i have really enjoyed working with the “OCT 31″ line by Fancy Pants.
the line has so many enchanting papers, easy to use stickers and fun embellishments. i should have taken a picture of all of it before i started working, but i didn’t (too eager to get to work!)
so instead, this time i am entertaining you with a picture of “after”…what i was left with. it may look like a lot, until you see what i started with! and here is a link to everything that is included in this line from Fancy Pants. ( i had MOST of it!)
from my first glance at the papers in this collection i knew that they would be perfect for this COMING halloween, since my daughter is dressing as a witch. i’ve been working a halloween or two in the past each year and i’ve never been concerned with matching costumes to the paper used for the memory keeping, but it was the perfect choice for this year.
i began with a 2 page layout, using quite a bit of product without making it feel overwhelming or busy. i used Tombow MONO Adhesive Permanent. i left lots of room for pictures to document our costume choices for this year.
once that was finished I started work on a a small album where I could keep pictures of all the events of the holiday – Trunk-or-Treat at church, Trick-or-Treating on Halloween, classroom parties, pumpkin carving, and our own Halloween party. i needed a standard size, so i made mats for pictures that would be printed wallet size. This way I can fit many pictures on a page, even though the page is only 6×12.
for this album i used Tombow MONO Adhesive Permanent for all the paper embellishments and mats, and i used Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Adhesive to adhere the background papers to the chipboard album pages. (album by pink paislee).
to create the album i spread the pages out…and then all around i laid out the sticker sheets, chipboard stickers, die cuts and paper scraps from previously cut sheets, and worked on one set of pages at a time. first i added some photo mats, then i would scour through all the goodies to find embellishments that complimented each other and helped pull the page together.

there is plenty of room to add more pictures if needed, and room to add journaling. two things to keep in mind when pre-making an album.
so in my goal to use as much as i could and i managed a double page layout, a 10 page mini album, and a huge sense of accomplishment…Halloween memories are ready to be made!

To keep up the Party from this week I made a layout of my daughter’s first birthday but not the actual birthday. Is a picture of her at the store picking the theme of the birthday and if you haven’t guessed we picked Minnie Mouse.
For the title I used the 1 candle of the Cricut Sweet Treats Cartridge and the font is from the All Mixed Up Cartridge. Most of the patterned papers are from Momenta.
For the doodling I used Tombow Markers and I also used them on the candle flame and I used the blending marker.
This cute girl and the balloon is from the Paper Dolls Everyday Cartridge and I made the ears with the Paper Dolls Dress Up Cartridge and my Gypsy. For her face I used Peachy Keen Stamps and for her hair I used Tombow Markers and the blending marker. I also doodle the balloon the with the markers. I embossed the little girl dress and I inked it.
This cupcake is from Sweet Treats. I embossed the cupcake wrapper and I used glitter glue on the candle.
