Walnut Hollow’s wood boxes make it easy to create a gift that is not only practical but usefull as well. Here’s how I make this great card box.

The Tombow DT received a wonderful goody from Walnut Hollow to alter (thank you so much Walunt Hollow!!). I rec’d their Card Keeper Box and got busy covering it with yummy patterned paper.

First I painted the edges with white paint. Then I used Tombow’s Mono Aqua Liquid Glue to adhere the papers to the box. I cut the letters with my Cricut and adhered them to the front with Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. This adhesive is perfect for small areas because you can rub the excess adhesive off.

or the top I added a large silk flower and adhered it with Power Tabs (as well as the  felt flowers on the front).

first, a translation,  h.m.b = home management binder   and  a.b.c.= anything but a card challenge ………. so let’s get to it!

i don’t just use my adhesives and paper trimmer to craft and scrapbook….or maybe it is that i use them for everything INCLUDING scrapbooking…whichever way it is, my Tombow adhesives, my paper trimmer and some cardstock can take care of any project that i need to do, crafts and everything else.

so i put together a home management binder. i needed an easily accessible place to keep all my calendars, ideas, to do’s and finances, etc. i did some searching around, talked to a few friends, and assessed the paper-clutter situation in my home to best determine how to organize it. a binder seems to be an easy way…add a few tabs and some pockets and viola…accessibility and ease to calendars, phone numbers, and to do lists.

i used Tombow MONO Adhesive Dots Roller to add the strips of cardstock onto each divider page and Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue to put the scallop tags on. to reinforce the tags i doubled them up. held together with the wet Aqua makes them pretty sturdy for paper tags. i added several pockets and used the Aqua for that as well. some are on the backside of the divider pages and on the front of one, i made smaller pockets to hold business cards.

i had some chipboard letters/numbers to use for labeling the front and the side of the binder, but they were too bulky under the plastic lining. so i peeled off a layer of the chipboard to make them thinner and then used more Aqua (loving this stuff today!) to glue them on.

there is more work to do to add in the categories that will work best for me, but i enjoy the crafty- work-in-progress of it all!

I used Mono Adhesive Power Bond to adhere the papers to the chipboard on the outside as well as on the inside. To adhere the Fall letters (cut with Stamped Cricut cartridge) I used Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. I love using this adhesive for letters, because I can rub off the excess adhesive. Marie did a tipnique on this last week. You can go here to see it. I’ve been doing this for a long time. The dot adhesive is perfect for those smaller pieces.

I created a fun little treat container using a toilet paper tube. These are so fun and easy to make and I love to recycle whenever possible. Here is how it is created:

1. Cut patterned paper the length and 1/2″ extra for the width and adhered to the tube with Mono Adhesive Power Bond.

2. Cut a strip of the orange stripe and cut a scallop edge on one long side. Adhered it with the same adhesive.

3. I covered the border edge with dark purple ribbon using Mono Adhesive Dots.

4. I finished decorating with some Halloween stickers that I have had for quite some time.

5. For the bottom, I cut a scallop circle with my Nestibilities die that was a little bit bigger than the tube and applied Mono Multi Liquid Glue around the edge of the tube and centered it in the scallop circle. (note: this is really a decorative feature as the cello bag is tight enough that it doesn’t fall through)

6. Insert a cello bag into the finished tube and fill with candy. Tie the top with decorative ribbon.

this layout has pictures from a Braves game my son and i went to last september. i was the “coolest mom”! it was a date, and he was spoiled…i admit it. with the pattern papers it ended up busier than i normally do, but that was part of my challenge too.

the “paper ribbon” looking strips were punched with border punches and then adhered down with Tombow MONO Adhesive Dots. this is the best adhesive for this kind of embellishment, because you can always rub off the excess adhesive. love my dots!

I used Tombow’s Dual  Brush Pens to watercolor the flower on this card. The image is popped up with Foam Tabs and I used Mono Adhesive Permanent to glue the pieces together.

My next project is a paper pieced tag. I covered a manilla tag with patterned paper, then stamped the image in the center. Then I stamped the flower image onto different patterned papers, cut out and layered onto my stamped image that I had stamped on the tag.I used Mono Adhesive Dots Roller for adhering this tag together and these markers.

Here I created another paper pieced project, this time a mini notepad.

My last card is a clean and simple just stamping in black and then using a pink Dual Brush Pen to add a little color to the flower.

I am a long time fan of Tombow adhesives. One of my favorites that you can usually find in my adhesive basket is the Permanent MONO Dots Adhesive –

I used this, and a couple other Tombow adhesives on my page that I’m sharing with you today. I’ll start by showing you a fun masking and stamping technique using the Tombow Foam Tabs.

Use tweezers to arrange the Tombow foam mini tab squares into a checkerboard pattern on a scrap piece of cardstock. Just lightly place the squares. Don’t press down on them. Peel off the backing paper so the adhesive is exposed.

Mist with your favorite spray ink.

Now use the foam adhesive checkerboard as a stamp on another
scrap of cardstock. Be sure to use a light touch when stamping your
checkerboard pattern.

You now have two checkerboard patterns to use on your project, but first let’s remove the Foam Tabs from the misted paper.

Gently pull the Foam Tabs from your cardstock.

If some of the adhesive stays behind simply rub it off gently with your fingertip.

I used MONO Aqua Liquid Glue to adhere a felt photo corner to my main photo. This glue works great with felt!

I love the texture that crumpled paper adds to a project, but sometimes it becomes difficult to adhere after crumpling it. Permanent MONO Dots Adhesive does a great job of keeping it in place.

I also used some of the  Foam Tabs to pop up some of the photos and accents on my page for extra dimension.
