SO cute! These would make adorable Thank You gifts and seriously so cute. Made with MONO Aqua Liquid Glue, MONO MULTI Liquid Glue, and MONO Adhesive Tape POWERBOND.

my little girl loves to paint, so i turned over some purple acrylic paint and a paint brush and she thoroughly enjoyed herself. even my son came in from playing baseball to help her out (secretly he loves painting too!)once we painted both sides and let them dry i let her use the Tombow MONO Glue Pen to adhere small white clips.i hung the new flower “clipboards” on the wall in her room. now she can add art work or pictures to decorate with.

to step the end result up a little (maybe more for the adult than the tot) i took the liberty of adding a few embellishments and some pattern paper to a couple of the flowers. too many pretty purple papers…i couldn’t not use them!

graduates of all ages have received the beloved dr. seuss book oh the places you’ll go as gifts for their special occasion. i’ve been wanting to create a dr. seuss inspired page for a while now (wanted to try the doodling) so this provided the opportunity i’d been waiting for.

this page was created with Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive Runner and the Tombow MONO Glue Pen.  and lots of Doodlebug crushed velvet flock.

typically i advise crafters and scrapbookers not to be adhesive abusers. but in this case, abuse away.
using two different adhesives achieves differing results. the glue pen holds the flock a little more clumpy, where as the permanent tape runner is more an even and smooth texture.

there are pros and cons of each, for instance, when using the glue pen you have to work quickly to get the flock on it before it dries. I suggest doing a section at a time and pressing the flock into the glue. then shake off the excess.

the permanent tape runner does not have a quick drying time, so i was able to roll it out in several places and then cover a larger area with the flock. in this case, dump flock on the paper and then move it around and rub it into the adhesive.

i’ve got some sweet pictures of my son finishing up pre-k from last year that will finish of this page.

now i’m not telling you that you will be able to get all the excess flock back into the bitty bottles (even if you use a tidy try) or that you won’t accidentally spill one of the bottles of flock on the table (like i did twice), or that you need to try a 12×12 layout like this one, but do try to doodle letters or a small drawing on a card or tag and fill it in with the flock or even glitter.

and remind me… i need to tell you all about Tombow’s MONO Glue Pen sometime. it is a fabulous, must-have adhesive, and i’ve got a few tips for you.

Whew! A few web problems here, sorry I’m late in posting this one! Let’s just cross our fingers that these cute pictures load properly. This tot project was brought on solely by one little girls need to send her cousin a card. That combined with some new product sitting on my desk that she was just itching to see. (It was sparkly, can you blame her?) It’s all good though, I know just how she feels, don’t you? The product was Sparkle Flock…. if you haven’t tried this stuff run out and get some. It’s so much fun to play with! We just dipped Star brads into MONO AQUA Liquid Glue and then directly into the flock jar and …..oh the fuzzy happiness!  Then it was onto a special card for a special cousin. Of course I had to make my own version while she made her’s on mine. Inspired by her patterned paper, I used a few different stars and the MONO AQUA Liquid Glue (for the thicker lines) and MONO Glue Pen making some buttery embossing goodness. Oh the effect  is so perfect. This is definitely one I wish you could see in real life. The texture, the color and even the dimension… and it was so fun to just sit down and create with my kids. After all this is what it’s all about, right? Creating special moments with your kids, instilling in them confidence and creativity at the same time. Multi-Tasking in the best way! Happy Tuesday!!

Promise! Cross my heart. My brain (and my budget) tells me that it would be so much easier. Easier to reproduce, Easier to save, Easier to clean up! Less messy, Less expensive, Less space in my house, More portable, maybe even More professional. The list of pro’s for digital scrapbooking huge. I love the look of so many inspired designers going digi lately. I do! So…. I’ve tried learning it, I’ve tried printing it and I’ve tried, really tried to enjoy it.

And I’ve failed.

I can’t do it! The layouts are okay but to me there is always something missing. Yes, I am left feeling accomplished that I got something done and even happier it only took me 15 mins. per layout but I’m also left feeling empty. My heart is not in it. The creative void just isn’t filled for me. It’s like a PICTURE of a beautiful quilt that you can’t cuddle up underneath you or feel it’s softness.  When I create 100% digitally I don’t feel like I’ve touched anything. I know it’s important that the memories are preserved (and ultimately that’s wonderful) but, I don’t feel like the creative outlet side of me gets to come out in quite the same way.

A few weeks ago I got an email from Creating Keepsakes. Telling me that CK has a promotion with Shutterfly through the end of February! A free 8×8 scrapbook! All your digi pages printed and bound. My brain told me to do it. My heart told me I’d hate it. Since I’d only be out the $3.50 in shipping I ordered one to at least try it out. I spent less than an hour and made a 2009 year in review album. Not only did I love it but I found a way to satisfy my head and my heart! Once it came back, I wanted to infuse a little more of my personality into it. So I pulled out a few flat embellishments, my favorite adhesives, a dual brush pen for journaling and got busy! I love the finished look and think I’ve learned that I love hybrid layouts! I’ll definitely be doing more of these in the future. DSC_8445One of our Design Team Members, Sarah Little, made this great card up. Sarah used the Tombow Mono Permanent runner to attach all the paper, and the Tombow Mono Glue Pen to heat emboss “merry” & “bright”, as well as adhere the cute rhinestones.  A lot of work for one tiny card but the outcome is adorable! Each album packed with more content then the last. This one is an 8×8 Chatterbox Album. I have a lot of pockets for TONS hidden journaling or extra pictures and instead of this just being Christmas or the week of Christmas, it turned out to be the entire month of December. There is a vintage/classic theme to this album that makes it the most true to my real-life holiday style. So this one reflects the most of my personality then any of the others.  This album could NOT have been made without the MONO Glue Pen. There are teeny-tiney homemade embellishments on every single page that wouldn’t have worked with anything but that.

This tiny ornament is just a small (1/2”) plastic watch face but I filled it with tiny glass beads and added a hook. I used the MONO glue pen around the edges of the doomed watch face and stuck it down. Since that’s the only place the glue is the beads move around inside… The effect is adorable.IMG_0454IMG_0314

I had made 5 mini Christmas albums for family members and always had the intention of making one for myself. I’ve spent every season since then trying to decide how I was going to scrapbook my Christmases in a special way.  I thought maybe I’d make a new layout each year and then put it in one master book, but I take WAY too many pictures to have everything condensed down to a few 2 page layouts. So this year I finally decided how to solve my problem… MINI ALBUMS! So for the last two weeks I’ve been working on a mini album for each year my husband and I have been together. I’ve gotten 5 of our 9 years together scrapbooked in just 10 days. It’s been A TON of work but, they’ve all turned out so amazing and each one is my new favorite. Over the next few weeks I’ll share as many as I can starting with this one.

It’s just made out of one of those brag books that you can slide your 4×6 photos into. I recovered it using a fun patterned paper and some MONO Adhesive Power Bond. I inked each photo and added a small embellishment using the MONO Glue Pen for the little things and the MONO Aqua Liquid Adhesive for the buttons. I also wrote on the buttons with the white MONO Gel Pen to make them looked sewn on. Then I slid in a few journaling cards and it was done! Our complete story documented. The album came together quickly and we already love looking through it and reminiscing.
