If you want to learn how to doodle, I have found the Learn to Doodle Kit to be really helpful. Hi friends, it’s Carola and in this post, I’ll show you three ways to incorporate simple doodles in your planner. If you’re a planner person who likes to track habits and make visual lists, I hope this post encourages you to start drawing!

Supplies Used:
- Learn to Doodle Kit
- Planner (or notebook)
Doodling in Your Planner
The Learn to Doodle Kit contains everything you need to start drawing fun and expressive icons. It also includes a step-by-step instructional book that you can refer to for tips and techniques, which I found quite useful to create the following planner spreads:
Mood Tracker
I like to track my moods for my mental health and I’ve realized that I’m more likely to keep up with it if I do it in a fun way. Doodling a plant in a pot with an expressive emotion is a great way to achieve this.
Depending on whether it’s a weekly or monthly tracker, you can pre-draw pots and then doodle the plant and emotion every day. I like the range of TwinTone Dual-Tip Markers included in the kit and that you’re able to draw with the extra-fine tip and then color in with the bold tip.
Grocery List
I like to visualize my lists if I can, and what better reason to do it than for a boring grocery list! Simply doodle a grocery bag or cart and then draw the things you want to get. You could also do it for a recipe that you need to pick up ingredients for, or do weekly meal planning.

Reading Tracker
If you have a hobby that you like to track, you can create a spread specifically with doodles to represent the activity. I love reading, so I drew book spines to write book titles on as I read them (if the titles are long, feel free to use abbreviations.) You can decorate the “book shelf” with accessories such as plants, frames, and book ends.

There are many ways to incorporate doodling in your planner and I hope these ideas inspired you. If you create spreads using doodles, we would love to see them! Share it with us by tagging @TombowUSA and @FromCarola on Instagram.
