Watercolor Wedding Invitations, Floral wedding invitations
By Sara Hynes
Hi friends! I’m Sara Hynes, and today I’m going to show you how to make your own watercolor wedding invitations — complete with an RSVP card and a matching envelope!
✂️ What You’ll Need:
- Dual Brush Pen Art Markers – Sorbet 6-Pack
- Watercolor Paper
- MONO Eraser
- MONO Graph Mechanical Pencil
- MONO Drawing Pen (03)
- Fudenoske Brush Pen – Black
- MONO Adhesive Permanent
- Water
- Paint Brush
📝 Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Select Your Size
Cut your paper to the desired size.
- Invitation: 5″ x 7″
- RSVP Card: 4″ x 3″
Step 2: Sketch it out
Use the MONO Graph Mechanical Pencil to sketch your layout.
Tip: Space things out vertically and leave enough room for all your details.
Step 3: Draw your flowers
Use Dual Brush Pens in two ways to create watercolor-style flowers:
- Direct-to-Paper: Draw the flower directly, then blend with a damp paintbrush.
- Blending Palette: Scribble on a palette, then pick up the color with your brush and paint the flower.

Step 4: Add the Details
- Trace over your pencil marks with the MONO Drawing Pen and Fudenoske Brush Pen.
- Use the MONO Eraser to remove remaining pencil marks.
Step 5: Make Your Envelope
- On a blank sheet, create a coordinating floral pattern.
- Photograph your design with good lighting.
- Adjust the brightness/exposure so the background appears white.
- Print the image and cut a section to line the inside of your envelope using MONO Adhesive Permanent.
Step 6: Mass Production (Optional)
If you’re sending many invitations:
- Take a photo of your finished invite and RSVP card.
- Upload to a stationery website and have them printed professionally.
💌 And that’s it!
