Hi friends, Carola here to show you how to create a tea themed journal spread! It’s National Craft Month and a perfect time to revisit your hobbies, such as journaling. If you enjoy a certain beverage (whether it’s coffee, tea, or something else), here’s an idea: save part of the packaging and create a journal spread to highlight your favorite drinks with notes and reflections.
Supplies Used:
- Dual Brush Pen Art Markers, Citrus, 10-Pack (https://www.tombowusa.com/8900-drawing-pencils-hb.html))
- Tombow Xtreme Adhesive Tape Runner, Permanent (https://www.tombowusa.com/8900-drawing-pencils-2b.html))
- MONO Graph Mechanical Pencil, Pastel, Ice Blue (https://www.tombowusa.com/mono-graph-mechanical-pencil-pastel-ice-blue.html)
How I Created This Journal Spread:
To create this journal spread, I used Dual Brush Pens 133, 245, 933, and 855 to add color by hand lettering the title “Teas That I’m Currently Enjoying” and layering darker marker shades on top of lighter ones to add contrast.
Then, using the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive Tape Runner, I added tea bag packets to use as pockets for hand written notes. Normally, I would recycle the packaging, but re-using them adds an element of texture and design to the journal spread.
Finally, I used a MONO Graph Mechanical Pencil to write notes and reflections about each tea on Kraft paper for reference. Then I slid the notes into the packets.
Simply elevate your journaling by re-using items that you would normally get rid of, which is a great way of adding different layers and elements in your journal. If you want to share your journal spreads with us, remember to tag @TombowUSA and @FromCarola on Instagram.
