I am a huge fan of Fancy Pants Designs and am excited that this week on Tombow we are partnering with them. Today I am sharing a quick and easy project using their Love Note line designer papers.
I have a bandsaw and can cut my own wood, but I have read that you can go to Home Depot and cut your own there if you don’t have a saw. I painted the blocks white, let dry and then used Mono Aqua Liquid Glue to adhere the papers to the wood.
After that dried, I brushed the edges with gray ink and then adhered the letters with the glue and then “painted” over all the blocks with the aqua glue as well. It dries a nice clear color and coats the paper to preserve it. Much better than Mod Podge and doesn’t bubble up!
For the heart, I cut 3 hearts with white cardstock and glued together with Mono Adhesive Dots and then adhered it to the block with the aqua glue. I wanted the heart to stand out a bit.
I am making 5 sets of these. One for me and one for my son’s girlfriend and the others for a benefit auction for a dear friend who is going through breast cancer. I will also be sharing more Valentine ideas on my blog from now until the 14th and will be using the Love Note collection.
Be sure to stop by the Fancy Pants’ blog to see what their design team creates using Tombow products & the Love Note collecion. Don’t forget to check back here each day this week as well.
Thanks for stopping by,
A lot of my artwork is done woth TomBow markers – any way to participate in your blog hop? Please advise thx!
I love that you used the Mono Aqua Liquid Glue instead of Mod Podge–I didn’t know you could do that!! What a great tip!
This is so fun, I love the colors and design of the DP.
What a cute decoration. I would like to make that for my mantle. I have just gotten into Mod Podge lately, and am having a ball with it.
I only have a few Tombow markers, but really like how they can be used like watercolors using the blender pen. Your LOVE blocks are really cute. Thanks for showing us.
What a great project ! I love it !! Thanks so much for sharing .
This is such a wonderful project! I don’t have any Tombow markers but think I need to get some!
Such a fun idea and a perfect gift. Great job.
Wonderful layout. I love the use of the straw. I just purchased some of those to craft with.
I have never done this but think I need to work with wood more.
Debbie, what a great idea!!! That way you can have Home Depot cut them as small or big as you want!! Am going to try this!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
