Hello friends, it’s Smitha! Today, I am sharing a black and white journal spread. I’m using my Archer and Olive Dot Grid Journal. I love the thick luxurious paper quality that Archer and Olive Journals have.
Material list:
- Tombow MONO J Drawing Pencil in 4H
- MONO Drawing Pens
- Tombow Dual Brush Pens, N15 and N55
- MONO Sand Eraser for ink and MONO Dust Catcher for pencils.
- A Dot Grid Journal from Archer and Olive
My first idea for your dot grid journal is to create habit trackers. For this spread, I wanted a nice monochromatic look. So, I pulled out a few black and grey Dual Brush Pens. Monochromatic does not mean boring! I sketched out the word DRAW and used black and grey Dual Brush Pens to color the long shadows. The Archer and Olive Dot Grid Journals have really thick paper, so the Dual Brush Pens won’t bleed through.
Another way to decorate your journal pages is to doodle simple flowers. I love simple flower doodles and these add so much interest to a simple page. The MONO Drawing Pens come in various thicknesses and are great to add intricate details to your line drawings.
My final idea for your dot grid journal is to add a positive quote. I always love writing quotes and a dot journal makes it very easy to space the letters out evenly. Try to mix and match font styles to add more interest to your quote.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial friend. Happy Crafting!

Maybe few people keep a diary now, but for me journaling is like a habit. I write all my feelings on paper instead of looking for someone to confide in.
