Hi Crafty Tombow Friends! This is Jennie with an easy DIY holiday project! I’m obsessed with crafty parties. This DIY ornament would be a perfect project for a crafty party. It’s easy, affordable, and you don’t need to concentrate too hard, so you can chat while you get crafty.
Supplies:
- Fillable Ornaments (the kind you can split in half)
- Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue
- Brush
- Glitter
- Small Trees
- Ribbon or Twine
Step #1: Add glitter!
Add Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue generously to one side of the refillable ornament. Usually, I use the broad tip of the Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue to spread the glue, but since it’s a small spherical surface, it was easier to use a brush. Add glitter! For bigger pieces of glitter, spread them on a flat surface, press your finger to pick them up and flick them on the glue.
Step #2: Let it snow!
I added two kinds of snowflakes to the ornament. The first one is the size of sequins, and the others are fabric snowflakes. They are easier to bend, which is good for the spherical shape. I added drops of Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue to the back of the fabric snowflakes.
Step #3: Trim the tiny trees.
Add a generous amount of Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue to the bottom of the trees. Let the glue on the ornament dry. Once it’s dry you can add a little glitter to the trees. The reason to wait until the trees are secure is to be able to shake the ornament to remove the excess glitter or fake snow.
Step #4: Add a little banner!
To add the little banner, I started by using a heat tool to make two holes on the sides of the ornament. I did this after I glued my trees to see how high the holes should be. It was really easy to use letter beads for the banner.
Step #5: Hang your ornament!
You can choose ribbon or twine to hang your ornament.
The back of the ornament also looks really nice, so you don’t need to maneuver it into staying front facing or cover the sides. It looks like the inside on step two.
