Hi friends, it’s Carola and in this post, we’ll make a fun Summer craft project: inspired by Summerween (Summer-Halloween), let’s make recipe cards for “Candy Corn Popsicles”.
As the weather warms up, my kids and I turn to homemade ice pops or popsicles to keep us cool. How fun would it be to have Halloween themed treats, where spooky meets sunny?! In this project, I made recipe cards in the shape of popsicles that can be used as a party favor or table decor. Although I didn’t actually use candy corn in making the popsicles, the ingredients I used can be layered to mimic the colors of the iconic Halloween candy.
Supplies Used for this Summerween project:
- MONO Glue Stick, Small (https://www.tombowusa.com/mono-glue-stick-small.html)
- Adhesive Dots (https://www.tombowusa.com/adhesive-dots.html)
- MONO Drawing Pen, 3-Pack – 03 and 05 (https://www.tombowusa.com/mono-drawing-pen-3-pack.html)
- Fudenosuke Brush Pen, Soft Tip, Black (https://www.tombowusa.com/fudenosuke-brush-pen-broad-tip-black.html)
- Construction paper in white, yellow, and orange
- Large popsicle sticks
Step-By-Step Process:
Step 1: Cut a piece of white paper into the shape of a large popsicle. Place orange paper on top of the white and cut it the same shape, only slightly shorter. Do the same with the yellow paper. Tip: to get an uneven paper layers, you could rip the top of each piece.
Step 2: Using the MONO Glue Stick, adhere the yellow paper on top of the orange, and the orange on top of the white. This is your candy corn popsicle.
Step 3: Using the Fudenosuke Brush Pen, hand letter “Candy Corn Popsicle” on the top, leaving enough room to include the list of ingredients and instructions underneath.
Step 4: Write down ingredients and instructions using the MONO Drawing Pen. I used the MONO Drawing Pen 05 for the headers and the MONO Drawing Pen 03 for details. You can also draw an outline around the popsicle to complete it.
Ingredients:
- popsicle mold
- plain yogurt
- pineapple lemonade
- orange juice
Instructions:
- pour orange juice into mold
- blend pineapple lemonade and yogurt, then pour into mold
- insert popsicle sticks before freezing
- freeze for 4 hours
Step 5: Adhere the popsicle stick to the back of the popsicle with Adhesive Dots (two should do the trick).
That’s it! You now have popsicle recipe cards.
