Hi Tombow Friends! This is Jennie Garcia and in this post I’ll channel my inner Katie Smith to create a landscape using the Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
Supplies:
- Tombow MONO Graph Mechanical Pencil
- Mixed Media Paper
- Tombow Dual Brush Pens
- Water Brush or Watercolor
Step One: Sketch the Landscape
Use the Tombow MONO Graph Mechanical Pencil to sketch the landscape. Add a subject, a background and foreground. I exaggerated the size of the moon to create an interesting composition.
Step Two: Color the Background
Scribble on the mixed media paper using the Tombow Dual Brush Pens. For the background, I used the Tombow Dual Brush Pens Galaxy Set. When you put colors next to each other make sure they are analogous colors so they don’t create brown tones.
Step Three: Blend the colors with Water
Use the Tombow Water Brush to blend the colors. After the background dries, you can create clouds by putting water on the paper, letting it rest for 30 seconds and pick up the color with a paper towel. Add lots of water and let the colors blend freely.
Step Four: Color the Silhouette
Use the Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen to color the silhouette of the animal. You can also use any other black markers or the Tombow MONO Drawing Pens.
Step Five: Add Details
Add highlights using a white pen or white paint. You can also use the same colors of Tombow Dual Brush Pens to add shadows.
