How to create a Colorful Mood Board

Hello, friends! I’m Andrea Lake, a passionate crafter who loves setting goals and planning to achieve them. Inspired by patterned papers, rainbows, flowers, and butterflies, I prefer my goal-setting tools to be simple yet colorful. Mood boards are an amazing way to visually map out your goals and stay motivated throughout the year. They allow you to combine creativity with planning, making the process both fun and inspiring. Plus, using amazing Tombow markers and pens adds a vibrant, personal touch to your vision.

Supplies:

Let me show you how I prepared myself for 2025 using my favorite Tombow products:

I started with a large notebook with dotted pages—this is perfect for creating a double-page spread that’s both functional and visually appealing.

I used a Tombow Twin Tone Marker (12-Pack Pastel) to write an uplifting quote on my page and outlined my lettering with the MONO Drawing Pen 01. Don’t worry about imperfections; they add charm to your work.

I organized my goals into categories like Home, Work, ALC (Andrea Lake Creates), and Routines and drew boxes for each category. I labeled them using Tombow Twin Tone Marker (12-Pack Bright)

Once again, I outlined the boxes with the MONO Drawing Pen 01 for a polished look.

When it was time to write down my goals and fun projects for each section, I did so using a MONO Drawing Pen 03. I kept them simple and straightforward.

Since I love crafting, I felt I needed to add an insert page to complete my spread. I Cut a piece of scrapbook-patterned paper and used the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive Tape Runner to secure a second piece of paper and create a pocket. This adhesive worked perfectly for layering elements on the back of the page as well.

Make sure you leave space to jot down your “little victories” and attach small photos or mementos throughout the year. These will keep you motivated and celebrate your progress.

It is now time to grab your favorite Tombow markers, pens and adhesives and get creative! I’d love to see what you make and hear about what inspires you. Share your creations and let’s keep inspiring each other!

Love,

Andrea L.
