Hi Tombow Friends! This is Jennie with an idea that can save you at the last minute! It’s very easy to make your own wrapping paper using Tombow Dual Brush Pens! Stay tuned to find out how!
Supplies:
- Tombow Dual Brush Pens
- Tombow Adhesive Dots
- Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive
- Roll of Kraft or White Paper
- Ribbon or Twine
Step One: Hold the paper.
Paper usually comes in rolls and it’s difficult to write on it when it keeps rolling back. Use the Tombow Adhesive Dots to hold the paper to a surface. They are strong, but at the same time, they are easy to remove.
Step Two: Add lettering.
There are many ways to design DIY wrapping paper. When using lettering, is best to start with that element. Sometimes is helpful to practice on a scrap piece of paper before using the wrapping paper. I used the Dual Brush Pen, Wonderland, 6-Pack. Using the Dual Brush Pens Packs is a quick and easy way to pick colors.
Step Three: Doodle the gaps.
Draw smaller doodles to fill the gaps. The fine tip is perfect for drawing small snowflakes.
Make doodle dabs by placing the tip of the brush pen at a 45-degree angle and pressing down. You can use doodle dabs to create leaves and flowers.
Here is how the paper looks! Try to spread the designs around the paper to make it look well-balanced.
Step Four: Wrapping the present.
Depending on the texture, kraft paper could be difficult to piece together. On textured surfaces, the best adhesive is the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive. The Tombow MONO Air Touch Adhesive is a great option for thinner and smoother papers.
Step Five: Embellish the present!
Use ribbons, twine, bows, brush trees, and anything else you can add to embellish the present. To keep them in place use the Tombow Adhesive Dots or the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.
Found objects and tags are also great embellishments for presents. Adding different textures gives the presents more dimension.
I used the Tombow Adhesive Dots to keep the little tree on the ribbon and trim cluster.
