Hello, and Happy Holidays Tombow Friends! This is Jennie with a fun advent calendar idea! At the end, I’m going to share 10 ideas of what to include in your advent calendar.
Supplies:
- Tombow MONO Air Touch Adhesive
- Paper bags
- Tombow MONO Removable Adhesive
- Number Die Cuts or Stickers and Embellishments
- Twine, ribbon, or yarn
You can find this kind of paper bag at the craft store, but you can also use lunch bags.
Step #1: Fold the top of the bag.
I used a scoreboard and a bone folder to create the flap on the bag. The scoreboard helped me make the fold in the same spot in every bag. You can just fold the bag and crease it.
Step #2: Decorate the bags.
I really like to add numbers to advent calendars because it adds more excitement to the countdown. It also helps when you have a specific plan for the day. But numbers are optional.
I chose similar designs for all the bags to make it easier for myself. To put everything together I used the Tombow MONO Air Touch Adhesive.
Step #3: Close the bag.
I like the way the bags turned out, and I thought I could reuse them, so instead of using a strong adhesive. I used the Tombow MONO Removable Adhesive. That way I could open them without tearing them. I’ve seen people do advent calendar swaps and it would be great if they could reuse the bags too!
Here are the twelve bags! You can go up to 24 if you want to.
Step #4: Make your banner!
Use twine or ribbon to put your banner together. Put them all in a surface where you can put them next to each other. Open the bags and put the twine on the crease of the bag. I applied the Tombow MONO Removable Adhesive on top of the twine. Leave at least 6 inches of twine on each side to create loops.
