Hello Tombow Friends! This is Jennie and today I’m going to share an easy way to make pretty happy mail because September 1st is National Letter Writing Day! Make someone smile when they open their mailbox! At the end of this post, I’m going to share 25 ideas of items to put in your happy mail!
The first thing I did was decide what I would put in my happy mail. I’m sending my friend a soap and some skin care samples. Since they come in foil packets I’m not a fan of putting them in envelopes where they will get squished, so I chose a box! Sometimes you don’t need to buy one, you can recycle. I used a Play By Sephora Box. To cover the brand I used Felicity Jane paper. You could also use washi tape.
To glue the paper I needed a really strong adhesive, so I chose the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive. This card is a nice way to say “Hello!” I used the Simple Gold Party Invitation card from Mixbook. To add texture I used stickers. Get fancy and spend a few extra minutes to make your letter extra nice. If you are still a lettering newbie try the Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip Brush Pen. We have a few guides to help you be a pro!
Little details matter! I used a Tombow 8900 Drawing Pencil to draw a line so my scallop cut would be even.
Then I used the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to wrap my box with paper. I also use this adhesive to wrap my presents!
Speaking of presents, doesn’t this look like a present? You could wrap presents and old cancelled stamps. I would also add doilies and more ribbons. Since this is mail-bound, I need to keep my pretty happy mail simple. To write the address I used the Sweet Notes Note Card and the Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip Brush Pen. I used a bit of twine so I had to use the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive Tabs to glue the mail label.
