Best of…Team Up’s
One of the best parts of be Tombow’s Blog Editor is the fact that I get to work with so many wonderful companies and even more amazing men and women. I have loved, LOVED working with each company to bring you all the best team-ups from the best companies with the best products to share with you the latest and greatest. My favorite team up so far has got to be IMAGINISCE. Their team is wonderful, their products make me melt and their ideas knocked our socks off! These altered blocks by Debbie have been one of our most viewed with everyone going back and re-checking it for reference and I have to say, I really, really love that.

Hambly Screen Print Overlays can sometimes be overwhelming to work with because it comes with it’s own level of stress just for adhering it. I have seen so many people rework their initial designs just to cover/hide the adhesive. Oh you know you’ve seen it… the random flower placed over the glue dot or the picture placed just right to cover the sticky tabs… and then the edges flap a little tooo much and you hope and pray the layout doesn’t get touched much because your sheet protector just might not hold it all together the way it was in your mind. You know you’ve been there. It’s funny cause, it’s true! At the same time it’s sad because there is a simple solution! Your design shouldn’t be compromised just because of logistics. Seriously, for a few dollors save yourself the headache and go out and get a little Tombow’s MONO Vellum Adhesive. Then stock up on all the Hambly your desk can handle, I promise that it’s worth it.

So if you happened to have a little Tombow’s MONO Vellum Adhesive and a few Hambly Screen Print Overlays… What would you make without worrying where to
We dooo! That’s Whooo!!! Remember to comment so that we have a chance to show you how much we love you and check out his so cute Tombow/Hambly bag by our own Debbie Fisher…
This week Tombow is partnering with Hambly Studios. Hambly sent the Tombow design team a wonderful package. It was full of clear cardstock overlays and stickers. The cardstock is VERY thick and sturdy…perfect for making a fun little box.
A few weeks ago, Splitcoaststampers had THIS wonderful tutorial. I had planned to make a different clear box, but it just didn’t work very good, so went with this one and love it! This box is soooo easy to make! I will definitely be making more of them. Its’ perfect for just the “little something” to give as a gift box for any reason.
I did a couple of different things than the tutorial. Because I was using a clear cardstock, I didn’t fold the sides down, but cut them off. I used Tombow’s Mono Adhesive Power Bond and WOW is that stuff strong! I am loving that product! It is perfect for making my little boxes and home decor items that I love to create.

I used the aqua hearts overlay to make the box. For the front I adhered an owl from one of Hambly’s sticker sheets onto a label from a label sticker sheet. I love their Kraft Cardstock Stickers. It was just the perfect little “something” to decorate the front of my gable box.
Thanks Debbie for the great ideas and thank to all of our wonderful loyal blog family for looking and remember to keep the comments coming, this weeks giveaway is a-maze-ing!
i have been using hambly with my tombow products for several years…since the invention of Tombow MONO Vellum adhesive.

there are many fun projects that can be created with their clear screen prints…clear cards, clear favor boxes, cutting up the screen prints to use as individual embellishments and using the screen print as a background for a layout, which is what i did with this project. because the layout was about a dress my mother made by hand i sewed through the screen print and the cardstock for the detailing around the scalloped edge piece and the title “dress”. i used the Vellum adhesive to hold it in place. then i cut up another screen print sheet that had several frames and used one over the focal picture and another to frame around the title. i used Vellum adhesive to put those down too.
i have several more ideas and lots of hambly product to play with, i’ll be working on a few more projects to post in the next few months. so many ideas, so little time. what about you? any hambly projects you have in the works?

The first card is a 6×6 card, so quick…just cut a 12×12 in half, cut a piece of coordinating paper 5×5, glue it on with Tombow Mono Permanent Adhesive. Cut a 1×6 strip of cardstock and glue that down across the 5×5 square. Fasten the trim by running a strip of the permanent adhesive along, and then press the trim into place. Add a flower and a cute journaling box and you’re good to go!

The second card is 4×6. Cut a 4×12 piece of cardstock, then cut a 3.5×6 piece of this REALLY AWESOME lace paper. Use Tombow Mono Permanant Dots on the back side of it, and it’ll only put dots on the paper parts, so there isn’t sloppy adhesive showing behind. COOL! Then I stuck a cute round tag, followed by a tiny pearl dragonfly. That’s it! Remember it’s your last chance at the giveaway this week so keep the comments coming and to check out Paper Posie’s cute site for more inspiration using July’s kit as well. Winner’s announced Monday!
the box from paper posies arrived and i opened it expectantly. i have never ordered from a kit club before. i was excited to use products that i wouldn’t normally buy for myself…and i was not disappointed. take a look at the loot!

i wasn’t inspired instantly, i had to sit on it for a few days, but then looking back through it i saw the maya road chipboard tickets and then i hatched an idea. my assignment was to do something altered. so i went to my box of items that i have saved for just an altering occasion. in there was a box that i had saved from a wallet i have from franklin covey. the box is really sturdy and i knew one day i would find the perfect use for it. well, today is that day.
i decided to make a ticket box…a place to keep tickets from shows that i have the pleasure of attending….broadway, local theatre, my daughter’s dance recitals. i don’t always get to take a picture at the event, or if i do, one picture and a ticket don’t always make a full scrapbook layout. so i set out to create a place to save them.

on this box i did the top cover and inside the front cover (when you flip it open). because it was a box and not a layout i felt a little more daring and layered a little more than i normally would. using pearls and the flowers is out of my comfort zone, so it was challenging but i LOVE LOVE LOVE the result. did i mention LOVE?
thanks paper posies. i think i have a new way of buying my scrapbook supplies. send me another kit!

to make the box i used Tombow PowerBond to adhere the paper to the box and to each other. I used Tombow MONO Multi on the flower, the lace paper (although i was very minimal with the application of it, so it wouldn’t ooze out the sides when i smoothed it down) and the chipboard. i still used Tombow Mono Dots on the ribbon on the inside of the box. the lace paper was actually pink, so to make it coordinate with my “blues” i flipped it over and colored the backside with a Tombow Dual Brush Pen #312. the chipboard ticket inside the cover was done with #879, as was the writing of the quote, also on the inside.

i LOVE it so much that i am going to find myself another box and make one for my son using sports paper and stickers…for all the braves games he goes to!

(and just as an afterthought…maybe find a box big enough that programs can be stored inside too with the tickets. i see the tickets laying loose in the box and easy to look through. however, this collection from franklin covey had 4×6 photo album/sleeves too. i had scored myself one of these that has been laying around,
so i am going to use it to hold the tickets and try to be a little
creative with the presentation by scrapbooking a little 4X6 card to
stick the ticket to and that one picture that is taken outside the theatre. )

p.s joanna are you proud of me? my first vintage piece!
Someone gave me this little plaque as a gag gift of sorts and I wanted to make a little home decor project for Tombow using Paper Posies kit that they sent me.Our bathroom is in SERIOUS need of being redone. But money and time is tight right now. Even if you have a room (or whole house LOL) that needs redone, you can still do little things to make it look nice until you can get to it. I could get discouraged by how bad it looks OR do little things to keep it looking as nice as possible considering all that needs done.Okay, I digress, back to my project.
It is soooo easy and yet adds a fun little element to the room. I cut patterned paper to fit inside the frame and attached it with Tombow’s Mono Adhesive Power Bond. Then I used the same adhesive to attach these fun letters that were in my Paper Posies kit. Perfect word for a bathroom don’t ya think? Ü I could have left it like that, but it needed just a little bit more. I printed the verse out on cardstock and attached it to the chipboard tag with the Power Bond adhesive and then stamped a flower from Darcie’s set and grunged the edges a bit, added some vintage rayon ribbon and there you have it.
Here is a tip for cutting smooth rounded edges: It is hard to cut rounded edges to look nice. Just cut and adhere to chipboard and then sand the edges with an emory board. Makes it smooth and look more professional.Super easy, super fun and super cute. What do you have around the house that you can alter with some pretty papers to pretty up your home? Don’t forget to check out Paper Posies all this week for more fun.
If you take a girl and her doll to lunch
While dining with her doll she will get an idea to play school with her doll at home.
While they are playing school there will need to be lunch time because her doll will get hungry.
You will make her doll a lunch and then she will want you to make a lunch bag to put it in.
When you’re making a lunch bag for her doll to put the lunch in, she will have an idea to make one of her own.

While she’s making one of her own, she will change the pattern and make it fancier just because she’s a girl.
Because she made it fancy she will say that it is too fancy for a lunch bag but that it makes a perfect shopping bag.
Since it’s such a cute shopping bag she will say that the doll needs to do a little shopping and ask to go to the special doll store.
If she is in the doll store then she will ask to take her doll to lunch….

Marie– Who/What inspires you Creatively? Where do you go/look for inspiration?
I find inspiration in my tools and creative products; sorting through papers and sorting embellishments back into their place motivates me with their shapes, textures, colors and motifs. There’s nothing better than to see a wall of pretty ribbon or a mug full of colorful markers to get your creative juices going, it also helps to remind me what I have available to create with!
I also keep visual journals filled with magazine clippings, sketches, color swatches, fun sayings and any odd ephemera that I find interesting. No rules, no worries, just a visual mind dump of images I like. These always prove to be a great inspiration if I am stuck on a direction or theme for a project.
