Good morning Tombow fans! Beth here on the blog today to share a Halloween quote featuring Paper House Productions paper and lots of yummy Tombow pens and pencils! The Design Team was recently sent some wickedly good supplies from Paper House Productions and when I saw this particular paper on their site, I immediately knew what I wanted to create – one of my favorite quotes for Halloween!
STEP ONE
Sketch the moon outline and location of the bats onto a plain piece of white paper, then write in the quote using MONO Drawing Pencil 3H grade. I love lettering with the Dual Brush Pen N15 using the brush tip and the bullet tip for added interest, mixing printing with hand writing. I always sketch out my lettering first to make sure I am pleased with the placement, then I ink it in.
STEP TWO
The Moonlight paper from the Wicked Good paper collection is a heavy weight, double sided paper and I unfortunately could not see through it on my Cricut Bright Pad, so I went old school creating a transfer. Simply shade the back of the sketched quote with MONO Drawing Pencil 4B grade. A softer lead pencil will create an easy way to transfer the lettering.
STEP THREE
Flip the lettering sketch back over and line it up on the Moonlight paper, then trace with a basic ball point pen. The pen will give you a nice, dark transfer.
STEP FOUR
Ink in the hand written part of the quote using the brush tip of Dual Brush Pen N15. The water-based Dual Brush Pen lines became a bit diluted on the decorative paper, so I inked over the hand written parts a second time with the Fudenosuke Twin Tip. Ink in the printed part of the quote using the broad tip of the MONO Twin Permanent Marker.
STEP FIVE
Once inked, I thought that the quote looked a bit flat, but I knew that the grey shadow would not show up well. I created a shadow with the Dandelion Irojiten Colored Pencil from the Vivid Set. This really gives the quote a POP!
STEP SIX
Add even more POP with glittered bats. Outline and fill in the bats with MONO Multi Liquid Glue, add black glitter then shake off and return excess to original container. Set aside to dry.
STEP SEVEN
The witch is the focal point of this quote, so I had to add a witch! Color the wood veneer witch silhouette with Dual Brush Pen N15, then glitter it with MONO Multi Liquid Glue. Set aside to dry.
STEP EIGHT
Once dry, add a double layer of Tombow Xtreme Tabs to the back of the witch silhouette and attach to the edge of the decorative paper.
Here is the finished quote. I really love the way that it turned out.
But, wait…there’s more! My wickedly fun supplies from Paper House Productions included some spooky cute potion bottle labels.
Scribble three Dual Brush Pens onto the Blending Palette, add MONO Aqua Liquid Glue, mix with an old paintbrush and apply to exterior of three different jars. Let dry.
Apply additional coats until you have received the desired depth of color.
Apply the Spooky, Chills & Thrills and Terrorific labels from the Halloween Diecut Sticker Pack to the front of each jar. Embellish with twine and finials to complete.
I hope that y’all have enjoyed my Halloween Quote featuring Paper House Productions as much as I have enjoyed creating it!
