How to Make Fun Lettering Patterns with Tombow MONO Drawing Pens 1

Hi Tombow Fans! This is Jennie. Today I am sharing fun lettering patterns made with Tombow’s new MONO Drawing Pens! Now Tombow has drawing pens! Not just any pens, they are truly amazing pens! They come in three point sizes 01, 03 and 05. I like to add little details to my lettering. These pens are perfect to make patterns inside of my letters.

Pattern #1: Keeping it simple with lines

In all my examples, I started with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens. To create a light ombre effect I scribbled 636-Imperial Purple on a Blending Palette and I picked it up with the 673-Orchid. These pens self clean so you can do this with all 96 colors! I made lines using the little ruler that comes in the Tombow Fudenosuke. The lines were made with the Tombow MONO Drawing Pen (01). I outlined this and all the other words with the Tombow MONO Drawing Pen (05).Introducing the NEW Tombow MONO Drawing Pens! Pattern #2: Unicorn Magic

I think I still had that famous drink on my head when I made this lettering pattern! Same blending technique as the first piece. For this word I used 673-Orchid and 565-Deep Blue. I used the MONO Drawing Pen (01) to draw super tiny stars! I can probably add even more colors to do a galaxy effect! Here you can see it without the black outline.

To outline the word I used the Tombow MONO Drawing Pen (05). It could also be cool to outline in a bright color like purple or 755-Rubine Red.

Pattern #3: Diamond and Hearts

I used the little ruler that comes in the Tombow Fudenosuke  and the MONO Drawing Pen (01) to make the lines. For the hearts I just made doodle dabs with 847-Crimson. It would also be a good idea to do a bunch of doodle dabs on the letters and outline it with the MONO Drawing Pen (05).

Pattern #4: Biohazard

This is my favorite pattern! To blend this style and pattern #3 I wrote the word with 055-Process Yellow. Then I added 195-Light Green on the top and I moved the color down with the yellow. I used the MONO Drawing Pen (03) to make the dots, the 01 point to draw the lines and 05 point to outline the word.

This pattern also looks slightly like eyelets or a corset.

Really cute lettering, thanks. And, love the new pens and the colors used. Will try doing this soon. How long before the pens hit our stores?
