Celebration Cocktail Doodles with Tombow Dual Brush Pens

Cheers Tombow Friends! This is Jennie! Can you believe that the Tombow Dual Brush Pens have been around for 40 years?! They are one of my favorite Tombow products. I love the colors; how easy they blend and the fact that I can use them in lots of projects!

Today I’m going to use the Limited Edition Tombow Dual Brush Pens Champagne Pack for this cocktail doodle!

Supplies:

Step One: Sketch it!

I used a ruler to divide the page into even spaces. You don’t need to be exact. You could use these doodles as inspiration to make scattered drinks around the page. I used the Tombow MONO Graph Mechanical Pencil to sketch these little cocktails.

Step #2: Trace!

I wanted to create a pattern, so I used a light pad, a piece of paper and the Tombow MONO Drawing Pens to trace my first row of cocktail doodles. I’m using the Tombow MONO Drawing Pens to trace, so I can see the doodles better when I put it under the actual artwork paper. Remember to add the line of the shelf, it’s the easiest thing to line up.

Step Three: Sketch!

I used the light pad to trace the cocktail doodle on the paper with the Tombow MONO Graph Mechanical Pencils. The Tombow MONO Zero Eraser is convenient to erase small mistakes!

Step #4: Color!

I’m using the Tombow Dual Brush Pens Champagne Pack to color. I always blend the first layer with a watercolor brush.

At the end, I add details with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I don’t blend this last layer.

Step #5: Add a background!

I used the tip of the 873-Coral to make little flowers, and the 800- Pale Pink for subtle dots, and the felt tip of the 991- Light Ochre for the stars.

Use the Tombow MONO Drawing Pens to outline the cocktails doodles. I wanted a subtle line so I used the 005 tip. The image was already busy and adding a thick line would've thrown the image out of balance. #tombow #doodle
