October is National Book month, so I thought it would be the perfect time to do a project that I’ve been wanting to do for a while now, and that is a Bedazzled Book! It’s a trend that has been quickly growing this year and I’m loving it, this was so much fun to do, and I hope you enjoy this tutorial!
I want to do more of my books now, and it would be such a great DIY project to do with your book club or just a craft night best friends!

Supplies:
- A Book – Try to choose one with an interesting but simple cover! Just know that the more details, the more time consuming the project will become. I would also recommend a paperback book because they usually have a more interesting cover, whereas a hardcover has the dust jacket you have to remove and a simpler cover.
- Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue
- Flat Back Gems- You can buy these in a multi pack or just the specific colors you need, but I recommend getting varying sizes, such as 2-4mm
- Tweezers

Step one:
Start by applying glue only to the area of the book you’re going to work on first, I recommend working in small sections with the glue so it doesn’t dry too fast. I started with the title.
The MONO Aqua Liquid Glue actually has 2 tips, one is the pen tip and the other is the broad tip for applying glue to larger areas like the background, but I like the pen tip for just applying glue where I needed it on the title.

Step two:
Next, apply the gems of the matching color to the glue. Tweezers help with this big time! If you have a variety of gem sizes, you can use the smallest ones for thin lines or to fit in spaces between the larger gems.

Step three:
Repeat steps one and two until you’ve covered your book! Try focusing on the most important parts first, such as the title, and any main elements or characters, and save the background for last.

And that’s it! I’m not going to lie- this is a time consuming project, but it’s so satisfying, and a lot of fun, and you have an amazing bedazzled book at the end of it! If you want a less time consuming version, try only bedazzling small parts of the book, such as the title, instead of the entire cover.
