This week is Mardi Gras week on Tombow. I’m not a huge fan of Mardi Gras, but it did make me dig in and do some research. I found this free clipart photo here that I used for my card.
Mardi Gras colors are purple, yellow and green and you all know how much I *love* purple. LOL! (for those of you that don’t know, I don’t). It took me a long time to find some purple to go with this. Ü
I do like what the colors stand for that I found on one site though. Purple: Justice; Green: Faith; Yellow: Power.
I used a Tombow marker to color a circle stamp and stamped the paper as it was too plain.
I decided the photo needed some fancy “something” as Mardi Gras is all about outrageous, so decided to go with this fun ribbon I’ve been playing with.
Here is a quick tutorial of what I did:
Spray rayon ribbon with water on plastic lid. Scrunch up ribbon as you spritz. I didn’t want my color to be even so I didn’t soak all the ribbon.
Color all over lid with marker
Then rub the ribbon over the ink and scrunch as you go. you can spritz a little too, to make it bleed a little more into the ribbon
Here are the Tombow Dual Brush Pens I used:
195, 346, 665, 025
I used Tombow’s Mono Adhesive Permanent to put the card together.
Inside it says “have a colorful day”. Ü I used this Mardi Gras font that I found free online as well.
Wishing you all a very “Colorful” day. Ü
