Hey Tombow friends! This is Jennie today! Pantone’s Color of the Year 2019 is Living Coral, so today I am making an art journaling page with photos using the Shimmering Sunset color combination from the color palettes Pantone offered as inspiration in this article.
Supplies:
- Tombow Dual Brush Pens (I used the colors: 905 & 873)
- Art Journal or Watercolor Paper
- Tombow TwinTone Dual Tip Marker (77-Cherry Pink)
- Photos
- Tombow Blending Kit
- Stamps (optional)
- Tombow Power Mini Glue Tape
Step One:
Scribble the colors on the Blending Palette. Spray water using the mister and transfer the color to the journal or watercolor paper. Once it’s dry, splatter plain water on the surface and let it rest for at least 10 seconds – then dab with a paper towel to pick up the color. To splatter color from the Dual Brush Pens, just scribble on the Blending Palette, spray a little water and pick up the color with a brush.
Step Two:
Use stamps or doodles on the background. I used the Dual Brush Pens to ink rubber stamps but I also used pigment ink.
Step Three:
I stamped these wings but the black didn’t transferred well on the cold pressed watercolor paper. Using the MONO Drawing Pen I outlined the wings.
Step Four:
Use the Power Mini Glue Tape or any other Tombow adhesive runner to glue the photos and die cuts.
Step Five:
Add extra stamping and details like the outline of the die cut.
I hope you give art journaling with photos a try! It’s perfect for quick and easy art journaling pages.
