I love Year-in-Review layouts and themes. There is something about seeing the overall yearly growth and memories all in one spot that ramps up the emotions for me and this time of year is just begging to review the past…

This layout is the first complete year of my son’s life. The colors are the colors of his favorite blanket and the photos were just ones the really highlighted something important that happened with him that month. All the little metal embellishments are put on with MONO Metal Liquid Glue and the ribbons were attached using the MONO Adhesive Roller on the back.

Every year I make homemade gifts for all of my siblings (there are 5 of us) and their kids. This year was all about the kids. I made each child a set of 5 finger puppets. Some were Farm Friends, some were Underwater Creatures, others were Garden creatures and there were even a few sets of Mountain Animals.  The 70+ finger puppets were hand made by me. I used felt with MONO MULTI adhesive for all the eyes and tiny face pieces and the edges I hand stitched.

Debbiecandy cane candleWe wanted to start featuring a few artists in our blogging community and today we’ve chosen Debbie Fisher! Debbie is a creative machine! Her fun projects and cards are always inspiring me. I love that she can take a simple notepad and make it so much more. Debbie was wonderful enough to create the adorable Candy Cane Candle for us by just recovering an exisiting candle jar. It is such a cute idea. (great for those last minute gifts!)

This is a super fast project and adds festivity to a holiday table. The kids and I made up a set of 8 in under 20 mins. It’s nice to sit down on a hectic week like this a just do something special with the kids too.

IMG_0313Yeah, I’m noticing that the albums are getting bigger and bigger each year. Each album packed with more content then the last. This one is an 8×8 Chatterbox Album. I have a lot of pockets for TONS hidden journaling or extra pictures and instead of this just being Christmas or the week of Christmas, it turned out to be the entire month of December. There is a vintage/classic theme to this album that makes it the most true to my real-life holiday style. So this one reflects the most of my personality then any of the others.  This album could NOT have been made without the MONO Glue Pen. There are teeny-tiney homemade embellishments on every single page that wouldn’t have worked with anything but that.

IMG_0503This is a blank layout. Just add your pictures after the holiday. It’s super simple and requires just a few minutes and supplies. I think the best part of this layout is the great metal embellishments. I just punched the cardstock and threaded craft wire, adding a few random Christmas beads then at the end I slipped on a monogram charm. I used MONO Metal Liquid Glue after it was all put together so that everything would stay in place and I wouldn’t be losing the shape or the other embellishments.

IMG_0531This little quilt inspired 4×4 card I made a few years ago. I had to make over 50 of them! I made about 24 for my family cards that year then had to make another 30 for Company Christmas Party invites.  Thankfully they pull together pretty fast. I love sewing in my scrapbooks and on my cards. I think it gives added dimension and texture. Whenever I sew I always use MONO Adhesive runner. It doesn’t gum up my machine and I’m never worried the adhesive will pull through on the threads.

IMG_0444This album is a lot bigger than the first two years but, then again it was our son’s first Christmas so we were a little camera happy. It’s a 6×6 accordion style album and the inspiration on this book was those vintage glass ornaments. Continue Reading
