We dooo! That’s Whooo!!! Remember to comment so that we have a chance to show you how much we love you and check out his so cute Tombow/Hambly bag by our own Debbie Fisher…

This week Tombow is partnering with Hambly Studios. Hambly sent the Tombow design team a wonderful package. It was full of clear cardstock overlays and stickers. The cardstock is VERY thick and sturdy…perfect for making a fun little box.

A few weeks ago, Splitcoaststampers had THIS wonderful tutorial. I had planned to make a different clear box, but it just didn’t work very good, so went with this one and love it! This box is soooo easy to make! I will definitely be making more of them. Its’ perfect for just the “little something” to give as a gift box for any reason.

I did a couple of different things than the tutorial. Because I was using a clear cardstock, I didn’t fold the sides down, but cut them off. I used Tombow’s Mono Adhesive Power Bond and WOW is that stuff strong! I am loving that product! It is perfect for making my little boxes and home decor items that I love to create.

I used the aqua hearts overlay to make the box. For the front I adhered an owl from one of Hambly’s sticker sheets onto a label from a label sticker sheet. I love their Kraft Cardstock Stickers. It was just the perfect little “something” to decorate the front of my gable box.

Thanks Debbie for the great ideas and thank to all of our wonderful loyal blog family for looking and remember to keep the comments coming, this weeks giveaway is a-maze-ing!

Someone gave me this little plaque as a gag gift of sorts and I wanted to make a little home decor project for Tombow using Paper Posies kit that they sent me.

Our bathroom is in SERIOUS need of being redone. But money and time is tight right now. Even if you have a room (or whole house LOL) that needs redone, you can still do little things to make it look nice until you can get to it.  I could get discouraged by how bad it looks OR do little things to keep it looking as nice as possible considering all that needs done.

Okay, I digress, back to my project.

It is soooo easy and yet adds a fun little element to the room. I cut patterned paper to fit inside the frame and attached it with Tombow’s Mono Adhesive Power Bond. Then I used the same adhesive to attach these fun letters that were in my Paper Posies kit. Perfect word for a bathroom don’t ya think? Ü I could have left it like that, but it needed just a little bit more. I printed the verse out on cardstock and attached it to the chipboard tag with the Power Bond adhesive and then stamped a flower from Darcie’s set and grunged the edges a bit, added some vintage rayon ribbon and there you have it.

Here is a tip for cutting smooth rounded edges: It is hard to cut rounded edges to look nice. Just cut and adhere to chipboard and then sand the edges with an emory board. Makes it smooth and look more professional.

Super easy, super fun and super cute. What do you have around the house that you can alter with some pretty papers to pretty up your home? Don’t forget to check out Paper Posies all this week for more fun.

Tombow is highlighting their Mono White Gel Pen this month and at the same time Joanna challenged us to a Zentangle inspired project. It was a tall order but once I rec’d the lovely Capella packet from Basic Grey (I know!! One of my all time favorite paper companies!!) I knew I could do it. I had a direction that turned out so very vintage and lovely!

For this card I used Basic Grey paper, brads and some lovely vintage lace from my stash that matched perfectly! To keep with the scallop and circle theme in my “zentangle” drawing, I punched one edge of BG paper with an eyelet scallop punch.

I colored my Zentangle image with Tombow DBP’s and put the whole card together with Tombow’s Mono-Adhesive Dots. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. It was a fun challenge.

It’s Team- Up time and this week we listened to your requests! It’s all about Basic Grey!! Check out these great Tombow/Basic Grey cards by Debbie. Remember to posts your comments daily for a chance to win our weekly prize pack!

I love this new Cappella paper by Basic Grey. I received this lovely package with papers, stickers and brads from this line. To me it is very vintage.

Tombow is highlighting their Mono White Gel Pen this month. I used this on both of my cards today.

For this first card, I stamped with a versamark ink pad on a Basic Grey black paper then pierced around the image and then “connected” the dots with the white gel pen. I love how it looks like chalk on a chalkboard. The brads are from another Basic Grey line.

The stamp set is a retired one by Stepping Stones. I used the two smallest flowers and a sentiment.

For this next card I went totally vintage! All the papers are from the Cappella line. The ribbon is from my vintage stash and the lace was white. I rubbed peach ink on it and then spritzed it and rubbed the ink into it more evenly. I love how it turned out!

The mini tag is from SU! from long ago that I still had. The pin is from last month’s Maya Road pkg. I wondered what I was going to do with those pins. They match the Cappella paper perfectly!

I used Tombow’s Mono White Gel Pen to make “eyelet” dots along the peach scallop border. Both cards were put together using  Tombow MONO Adhesive DOTS. Thanks for stopping by!

to create this fun wall hanging, I used a “page” from Maya Road’s Wavy Layer Chipboard Book. I painted the front and back a creamy white color then sponged the edges with permanent brown ink. I hand cut a piece of Basic Grey patterned paper from their Porcelain line, sponged the edges with chocolate ink, machine stitched around the edges and adhered with Tombow’s Mono Adhesive Power Bond.

I used Tombow’s Mono Aqua Liquid Glue to adhere brown glitter to Maya Road’s David Chipboard Alphabet. I used the Mono Aqua Liquid Glue to adhere the letters to the wallhanging.

The bird and leaf is punched from one of Stampin’ Up’s punches. The flower is made by stamping several scallop circles, wadding them up in a ball and then flattening them back out. I made two holes with my piercer and threaded the vintage button with crochet thread for strength and knotted to the back. I then spritzed the flower very lightly with water and one layer at a time started scrunching the flower up around the button. After the flower was completely dry, I brushed the edges with brown ink and ahdered the flower with the liquid glue. I finished it off by adding a ribbon hanger with Maya Road’s Pink Sophisticate Striped Ribbon.  Thanks for checking in!  (and don’t forget to comment all this week for your chance at this week’s drawing!)

supplies: Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue, Dual Brush Pens #873 (peach), #743 (pink), #452 (turquoise), #192 (green); Maya Road Clear Jewel Flowers, David Chipboard Alphabet; Making Memories Paperie Poolside patterned paper, EKSuccess scallop punch

This month is all about Tombow Dual Brush Tip markers and this week is Maya Road, I love the combination.  For this card I colored Maya Road’s chipboard letters with four of the markers (see supply list for colors) using the brush tip end. Then for the inside of the card I hand wrote “missing” with the pen tip end. Tombow’s Mono Multi Liquid Glue is perfect for adhering the jewel flowers (also Maya Road) as well as the letters to my card. Thanks for stopping by, be sure to comment for your chance to win.

Do you ever make anything and love it so much you have a hard time giving it away? This is one such project. I had so much fun making this. The idea actually started out as a baby basket, but didn’t have any baby items to fill the box AND I didn’t know anyone expecting. LOL! Then I remembered this fun paper I had received from Graphic 45 with the cherry drink on it and thought it would be fun to make a Cherry Coke themed box for a friend or graduate. The  G45 papers used can be found here;(aqua), (cream  scallops), (polka dots), (swirls), and (circle cherry drink paper).Okay, let’s get started with all I did to make this fun box as there are a lot of details. I’m going to break up the details in numbers to make it easier to read. (I hope!)

1-The box. This is a 2-drink carrier from McDonald’s. (seriously!) We went to McDonald’s drive thru asked for 2 waters (we did order their 3 chocolate chip cookies for a dollar…okay getting off the subject here) in the 2-drink carrier. As soon as we pulled away, I had my son get the cups of water out of the carrier and put it in the back so I could use it later. I brushed all the edges of the box with tan ink.  I traced the sides onto scrap cardstock to make my patterns to cover the box. After I had decided on my theme, I went through the papers (and there were a LOT of them…Thank you Graphic 45!) that I had received and chose 5 coordinating papers.

2.    I cut my pieces as I wanted them on the box and stitched around each piece (except for the scallop edge) and took a tan ink pad and brushed each piece WITH the ink pad to grunge it up a bit. (For the scallop edge, I used my new favorite EK Success punch)

3.       I adhered all the pieces with Tombow’s Mono Adhesive Power Bond.

4.       Several elements of this box is inspired are inspired by my friend Michelle Wooderson (you SERIOUSLY have to check out her blog if you aren’t familiar with her work!) First element is using old pattern tissue for tissue paper. I found some old patterns at a shop for 5 cents each. Pretty inexpensive tissue paper! On one side of the carrier is a bottle of Coke and a Twin Bing candy. The candy has a cherry nougat center. This candy is only found in a few states. But it’s very yummy! Okay, next step…  On the other side of the carrier is this cup that I found at a local store for $1. How cool is this???! The colors match my paper perfectly. I was looking all over for a Coke glass and found this AFTER my box was made. I was tickled pink…I know, doesn’t take much for this farm girl to get excited. I included a cello bag of chocolate covered cherries (if I would have had the time I would have made homemade candy, like Black Forest Fudge)

5.       Another inspired item on the second side is a recipe card. Mish decorates her recipe cards so cool. I can just imagine how cool her recipe book looks! You can buy Cherry Coke, but I thought I’d Google a recipe for making your own and found this simple recipe and what fun that it uses cherry Kool-Aid…another decorating element I can use for my gift box. (hey did you know that Kool-Aid got it’s start in Hastings, Nebraska? I live some place famous. Ü)    I couldn’t figure out how to decorate the front and it finally came to me to use the Kool-Aid packet somehow. Mish came up with a pocket card a few years back and recently has been making paper bag ones. BINGO! I have a BUNCH of “smaller than lunch bags” sized sacks and knew they would be the perfect size.

6.   I folded the bag into a “pocket” shape and machine stitched the sides, then brushed edges with ink and inserted the cherry Kool-Aid. I used buttons to represent cherries and drew a stem. I hand cut a leaf from felt and sewed down the center. To hold the pocket to the box, I used a clothespin (yet  another Mish idea…I told ya she was creative!). I cut paper to fit both sides of the clothespin and distressed with ink. Using crochet thread, I knotted two Basic Grey buttons and glued to clothespin with Mono Aqua Liquid Glue and WA-LA ~ a lovely gift basket to give!

Please be sure to stop by my blog for more photos and don’t forget to comment below. I hear there’s a great giveaway this weekend!

It’s Spring time and if you haven’t already done a little spring cleaning, I know you’ve at least thought about it. Can you still call it springtime if it’s almost summer? Oh well, I live by the mantra, ‘Better Late Than Never’. So before the summer really gets into full swing I thought I’d re-evaluate my studio/office/scrapbooking space. A little cleaning, clearing and organizing never hurt anyone, right? Of course our DT is full of amazing, creative and useful information and so I asked a few of them for a little advice. Check out what their favorite tips on workspace organization are below…

SARAH SAYS…

my favorite tip would be to have one….a workspace that is.

i work out of a room in my home that we consider the office. two corners desks, a whole lot of paperwork, and books and files from my real job and my desk space becomes non-existent!

i do have a rolling cart parked in my kitchen (much to my husband’s dismay) that i use to scrapbook on, and hold in progress projects. and then there are some nights that i end up parking myself on the living room floor (much to my chiropractor’s dismay). sometimes i treat myself and i head down to the scrapbook store for a weekend crop and spread out on one of their tables.

so back to the point, the question… my tip for organization would be to have a set of tools and adhesives at each station, and most definitely a portable set. i do have two paper trimmers, and keep them in different locations, and i have quite a bit of tombow adhesive (imagine that!) and i keep one of each on my desk in a spinning carousel, i keep a set in a small tool bag that is very portable from my desk to the kitchen cart to the floor, and another set in a bag i can take to a crop that stays mostly packed. it may cost a little more up front to stock up like that, but for someone like me that is a nomad scrapper, it is invaluable!

DEBBIE SAYS…

My organization tip is for ribbon. I wrap my ribbon around heavy chipboard that I have cut 3.5″ x 7″. I sit them on the long end as shown in photo boxes. I have them organized by color and have the boxes marked what colors are in each. This way I can see at a glance what I have and match ribbon to my project.
My ribbon is in a basket thrown in and tangled! Seriously, look at that ribbon! Beautiful. If that isn’t motivation nothing is. Really good advice! So with my motivation ramped up, My organizing ideas are sprouting and I’m ready to tackle the project… What are your favorite organization tips? Comment below or post picts on our Facebook page, I’m desperate and who knows if your idea ends up being implemented I just might have to send you a major thank you gift! Okay really…enough delaying, I’m off to work! Wish me luck!
