i wanted to create a simple yet meaningful ornament for my parents and in-laws, and what grandparent doesn’t enjoy pictures of their grandchildren?
using a maya road chipboard set i traced and cut christmas paper and a photograph of my family to put on the chipboard shape. using Tombow MONO Multi I adhered both to the chipboard, being sure to get to the very edge to keep them from getting bent back. with a foam brush i painted the pattern paper side with a thin layer of Tombow MONO Aqua so i could shake diamond dust over the top. (diamond dust is a clear chunky glitter…i’ve had mine forever. i wonder if they make it anymore?) the final effect was shimmery, as the diamond dust caught the light. lastly i used Tombow’s White Gel Pen to write the year on the photograph, then adhered button eyes to both sides with the Tombow MONO Multi. it is now hanging on my christmas, sparkling with the lights.
This is absolutely adorable!!! I love how you did this! Thank you for sharing!!!
This is SUCH a great idea! These would be great gift toppers that would serve as a special handmade part of the gift, too! I want to go make some!
Thanks for sharing something so cute!
