Do you love the feel of fabric but don’t want to “learn to sew”? I feel that way sometimes and I know how to sew! It’s okay to feel that way and there are loads of ways to use fabric in your crafting without sewing a single stitch! Check out this “howdy” banner I created without any sewing:
I created this banner using chipboard, assorted Tombow Adhesive, and a sampling of Samantha Walker’s “Saddle Up” fabric line from Riley Blake. (click the link to see more) Isn’t this fabric line super cute?!
Using fabric allows for softer edges and a richer feel to any project. There’s no way to achieve the soft tattered edges on this banner using paper alone. Using fabric in your crafting opens up a whole new world of patterns and possibilities!
I knew immediately that I wanted to create a banner using the Samantha Walker’s “Saddle Up” fabric . This banner could be used for a little girl’s cowgirl party, a western themed bedroom, or even just as fun decor for your office or craft room. My niece will be receiving this banner to hang on her bedroom wall as she is a rootin’ tootin’ little cowgirl out on my sister’s ranch. And she loves pink!
All you need to create a banner like this are the following supplies:
- Samantha Walker’s “Saddle Up” fabric line from Riley Blake
- Tombow Glue Pen
- Tombow Power Bond Mono Adhesive
- Tombow Power Adhesive Tabs
- Tombow Glue Stick
- Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue
- Tombow Acid-Free Marker in Black, N25
- 6″ x 12″ piece of chipboard or cardboard
- Clearsnap’s Fairy Dust Glitter
- Craft Knife & Non-Stick Scissors, Westcott
- Cardstock, American Crafts & Bazzill
- Twine
- Buttons
- Paper Flowers
- Ruler
- Glitter Tray
- Diecutting Machine
These videos show you the banner process from start to finish. Enjoy!
