Fun and Easy Upcycled Cereal Box Book Wrap
I am one of those people who has a book for everything. And I carry them with me wherever I go. But sometimes the things I’ve tucked into the books fall out and I’m stuck digging through my bag for them. So I started making Upcycled Cereal Box Book Wraps for my books. The cool thing about this book wrap is that it can be used for several different sizes of books and it grows with your book. Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue is perfect for this because it creates a strong repositionable bond when dry!
To begin making your Upcyced Cereal Box Book Wrap, take some string and wrap it around your book to measure it.
Cut a piece of your cereal box to the length you measured plus at least 2″ so it will overlap in the front of your book. Then cut some cardstock the same length, to cover your cereal box. The width of the wrap is up to you. Usually 1″-2″ is good. Wrap the cardboard around your book, just to be able to mark the areas where it will bend, like the spine and front. Score the cardboard and cardstock at these areas every quarter of an inch for approximately 1″ of the wrap. That will let your wrap bend without ripping. To adhere the cardstock to the cereal box, use Tombow Xtreme Adhesive. This adhesive is 5x stronger than other adhesives so the book wrap won’t come apart.
Have fun with you Upcycled Cereal Box Book Wrap! Decorate it however you’d like. I added some ribbon to mine with Tombow XTreme Adhesive. Xtreme Adhesive is the perfect width for ribbon. Don’t Forget, to pull the adhesive to the side when you are finished, to get a clean break.
To finish your Upcycled Cereal Box Book Wrap, add a large circle of Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive where you want it to close. Let it dry. This will create a strong repositionable bond to close your wrap.
I added a flower to the outside of my Upcycled Cereal Box Book Wrap with the Mono Multi Adhesive.
