Hey everyone, Katie here with a fun project! This week, Tombow has partnered up with a few amazing crafting companies to celebrate National Scrapbook Day! While I love scrapbooking, I also love using my scrapbook supplies in my other paper crafting and mixed media projects. So today I am showing you how I used scrapbooking materials in my art journal.
How to Art Journal with Scrapbook Supplies:
Supplies:
- Papercakes Patterned Paper
- Amy Tangerine Oh Happy Life Stamp Set and Stickers
- Patterned Paper by Diecuts With A View
- Tombow Dual Brush Pens
- Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive
- Tombow MONO Twin Permanent Marker
- Tombow Fudenosuke Calligraphy Pen, Hard Tip
- Tombow MONO Air Correction Tape
Step one:
I started by using the Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive to adhere a piece of patterned paper by Papercakes onto my journal page. Next I used the cross hatched circle stamp from Amy Tangerine over top of some of the circles on the patterned paper using a Dual Brush Pen as the ink.
Step two:
I applied a bit of color to the corner of the page by scribbling with Dual Brush Pen colors 725 and 755 and then brushing them with water.
Step three:
Next I drew a butterfly onto a piece of velum using the MONO Twin, and colored it with Dual Brush Pens. I layered the butterfly with strips of patterned papers onto the page and adhered them all with the MONO Permanent Adhesive.
Step four:
To finish off the page I added arrow stickers and drew out black lines in starburst patterns. I used the MONO Air Correction Tape to create a white space for my journaling, which I wrote on using the Hard Tip Fudenosuke. (For more tips on using the MONO Air Correction Tape in your art journal, check out this post.)
That’s it! This journal spread came together super easy. Do you ever use scrapbooking supplies in your art journal? If you want more art journaling inspiration, be sure to take a look at Jennie’s recent project.
Thanks for stopping by today! I’d also like to thank the fabulous companies (DCWV, Paper House, Graphic 45, Amy Tangerine and Papercakes) that partnered with Tombow for National Scrapbook Day for the fabulous paper crafting products they sent my way!
Love how you used my Papercakes paper as your background! Lovely page Katie
