Hi friends! Renee from @thediyday here to share how I decorate my planner and belief cards from Bloom Daily Planners. Let me just share a bit about theis planner. It runs from August 2018-July 2019 (ideal for the new school year), there are monthly tabs, front and back pockets, and inspirational quotes – just to name a few. Aside from sharing how to create a bright and colorful planner, I’m also sharing how I customize the belief cards I received. These cards are amazing. Each contain a positive message on the front of the card and space on the back to leave my own personal message.
Supplies
- Bloom Daily Planner (Geode)
- Bloom Planner Stickers
- Tombow TwinTone Dual Tip Markers
- Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen
- Bloom Belief Cards
Step One
Because October is a super busy month for me, I’m filling it in first. Usually whenever I start filling in a planner, I start off with birthdays (I hate forgetting a loved ones birthday). I like having a bright and colorful planner and I achieve this by using various Tombow TwinTone Markers. In different colors, I write in the names of family and friends’ birthdays I need to remember. I also like to include a birthday theme sticker. The ones I’m using are from the Bloom Daily Planner Sticker collection. These fun reminder stickers also keep me on track with vacations, girls’ nights, and many other life events. Just a helpful tip, until a plan/schedule is confirmed, I often write it in my planner in pencil. That way I can erase it later if plans change.
Step Two
Another easy technique I like to use to create a bright and colorful planner is adding dots and straight lines throughout the pages. When I decorate a box with a design, I tend to use a light colored TwinTone Marker. The reason for that is because I can use a darker marker and write on top of the doodle – it will stand out among the lightly colored design. Don’t forget, straight lines can be done horizontally, vertically, diagonally, or a combination of both (lines provide great dimension).
Step Three
Bloom Daily Planners also makes Belief Cards. These cards come in a set of 30 beautifully colored cards with a positive quote or affirmation on the front of each. The back of the card has enough space to write a note. I customized the back of my cards with a message using a Fudenosuke Brush Pen. Last, with my TwinTone Markers, I added a basic design using dashes and dots. Once all of the cards have a personal message on them, I plan to leave a card in random places I visit – the grocery store, the dry cleaners, pet store, and post office. Hopefully it will make someone’s day better.
