Supplies:

  • Packaging to recycle- I’m using an amazon box, and empty strawberry containers!
  • Dried Flowers
  • Scissors

Supplies you'll need to make DIY Dried Flower Bookmarks from Recycled Packaging, cardboard or plastic packaging, Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue, & Dried Flowers

Step one:

Start by cutting your old packaging down into bookmark sized rectangles. I cut mine to 2×6″

Step two:

Cover your bookmark in a thin layer of MONO Aqua Liquid Glue. The broad tip will allow you to brush the glue around on the bookmark.

This adhesive goes on clear and dries clear, and almost has the look of clear resin when dry, which is why I love it for projects such as this where I can use it as a topcoat.

Step three:

Arrange your dried flowers and stick them down onto the bookmark. It’s okay to let them hang off the edge, you can trim it later. Let this layer dry.

Then, once dry, add a second layer of glue on top, as a clear topcoat over your dried flowers. This is where you get that beautiful “resin” effect.

Then add these eco-friendly recycled bookmarks to your next read to save your page, or give them as a gift to a friend!

Although I read on my kindle 90% of the time, I still love diving into a good paperback, so I’m excited to now have these aesthetic bookmarks that are both beautiful and eco friendly!
