Western Style Halloween Lettering Tutorial
Step 1: Draw your letters
This card will feature a beautiful champagne tower so let’s start at the center. Pencil in your champagne glass shape and trace carefully using the MONO Drawing Pen 02. This pen draws really delicate lines that creates delicate illustrations.
Before we add any Vintage magic to our Halloween Lettering, we need to roughly sketch out the basic letter shapes. Using the MONO Graph Pencil, lightly draw your letters out in a block lettering style. Make sure you have your letters evenly spaced and centered. Prep is everything here, so pay attention to this step and the next ones will go easier!
Step 2: Trace your Letters and add swirl details
The Tombow Dual Brush Pens come with a firm bullet tip, that comes in handy to trace your letters. While tracing the outline of your letters, start adding swirls to the base and edges to add a Western Styled Vintage Lettering.
Having the pencil outline below makes it easy to add the decorative elements at the proper places.

Step 3: Fill in your Letters with Color!
Using the unique brush tip of the Dual Brush Pens, applying marker color to paper to fill in the letters. This tip is flexible and you can easily add broad strokes where needed, but also draw the delicate swirl turns. You can add a little color or a lot of color by varying the pressure.
I love the contrast of black against white, but wanted to bring more classic vintage colors in to my lettering. What colors would you use to color these letters in?
Step 4: Trick or Treat!
Carefully add color to the other letters using Dual Brush Pen colors of your choice. I used 772 and 933 here and love how it turned out!
