Didn’t make it to CHA this year? Check out this video of Sarah and some great Tombow techniques from her Make-N-Take station.
I had four people email me thier new technique from Tuesday. The winner of a new Dual Brush Set from our Craft Collection this week is Kim Teasdale! Check out her AWESOME card on Facebook HERE! Congrats Kim!
This month’s online contest has been my favorite so far. I have really loved checking out everyone’s cute blogs and amazing talent. I’ve been surprised at the inspiration I’ve gotten and I’ve laughed at your witty journaling and photos. So Thank You for letting me peak into your creative lives. Today’s winner is Ivanka Lentle!
Ivanka entered a few Valentine’s Day cards and I loved them all but, I think this little tree one was my favorite. WAY cute texture and simple sentiment. You should definitely check out her BLOG to see the rest of them. She used TOMBOW Mono Adhesive Dots on all of her cards. So congrats, Ivanka! Thank you for entering! Check your e-mail and your AWESOME PRIZE will be in the mail soon!
At CHA this week Tombow released a new line of Dual Brush Pens! In the past, our Dual Brush Pens have always set the gold standard for professional art markers. And now they’re even better; they have a new look for the craft market. We have created SIX new and exciting color assortments both in our 6 and 10 pack sets. Not only that, but we’ve also lowered the price on them! That’s a combination that can’t be beat.
Marie Browning is at CHA this week doing an adorable make and take project.
Check out her video on facebook – HERE! Make and Take
The trick to making the colors blend like watercolors is The Blender Pen! First to use the brush side of any coloron any piece of plastic (an old cd, or other non-porous surface) Then using your blender pen you can pick up your chosen ink color to pull the colors into your stamped image. Start shading where you want the color to be the most intense then gradually work in tiny circle to lighter shades. Work in small area at a time and don’t over blend. It’s super easy and the effect is BEAUTIFUL! The Blender Pen comes with any of our 10 piece sets and our 96 color set. Try this technique on your next card or layout. We’d love to see what you come up with! Because it’s CHA, and because we’re excited about this awesome technique, post your project using this technique here or on our Facebook profile before Thursday at midnight and on Friday we’ll choose 1 lucky artist to win a set of 10 dual brush markers from our new line!

One last happy thought before the weekend… Check out our friend, Jennifer McGuire, and her new baby! We think that baby’s pretty cute, don’t you?
This week’s winner is…. Mimi Leinbach! She entered two layouts and BOTH were in our top picks this week. I love how she features her photographs so well in each. The embellishments never take over but are still a main element.
MY BEST- I love the photos in this layout and I love the journaling. So heartfelt and meaningful. Oh and what a creative way to use the October Afternoon Flashcard books! Even those cute bards around the edges are a perfect touch. Honestly it makes me wish I had seen this before I made my layouts.
NATURES BOUNTY- This layout is very inspiring to me. I wouldn’t have thought to use a kraft colored background with the prima flowers like that but it really makes the photographs and the flowers pop. Those flourishes on the corner really balance it all out too. Mimi says her favorite Tombow adhesive is MONO Aqua Liquid Adhesive and that it’s used on every single layout she does. Good Job Mimi and congrats! Check your email, and then your mailbox! It will soon be filled with A 10 pack of Dual Brush Markers, a white MONO gel pen and every single one of our adhesives!
Remember to keep the summissions coming, we’ll do choose another winner next week!
Over the last 30 days my office has been turned into a tiny construction site. Itsy bitsy boards and nails everywhere. Lorali’s Daddy is building her a dollhouse. Not just any dollhouse a hand made heirloom dollhouse. Every night a few more hours are put into it. We take picture at different stages and it’s almost done. She’s excited to get to play with it and I’m excited to get my space to myself again! So to honor the HUNDREDS of hours put into this thin I figured I should document it.. This layout was made using practically every paper from October Afternoon’s Farm Fresh line. The vintage colors and patterns are beautiful. Continue Reading
I have been meaning to make my kids homework charts since September and never really felt inspired enough to tackle the project. Then comes along October Afternoon Report Card Line and I couldn’t stop coming up with new fun projects for the kids using these. Today we made Homework Clipboards and a Book Log. For the clipboard we just used a mini size clipboard and Tombow COLOR Glue Stick. I cut out the background paper and they used rub-ons (tattoos, as they call them), stickers, patterned paper and Dual Brush Pens to decorate. I’ll clip on their homework every week and we’ll use that to keep track of it all and make sure it gets done. It was my Kindergartner that wanted to make the Book Log. He barely learned to read this past month so using the Flashcard Book and the COLOR Glue Stick he wanted to make ‘a place for his stories’. I had him pick 2-3 accents per page and put them in his book. When he finishes reading a book he’ll write it down in his book. I plan on taking a few shots of him reading to quickly print and add to it as well. I hadn’t thought about having the kids start their own little album and then just adding journaling or pictures later but, I‘m already loving it! I can’t wait to see what it turns into throughout the year.
Did you know that happiness can be found in the form of paper? I did! October Afternoon sent over some of their new product lines and I have to tell you that I was so excited to have fresh, new, ADORABLE stuff that was just waiting for my hands to get to work! It’s instant inspiration. All this week , we will be partnering with October Afternoon. Be sure to check both our blogs often this week. We’ll both be posting TONS of inspiration and giveaways. This was a quick card I made up with the *few* supplies that were left after my kids made their Thank You cards last week. All Paper, Stickers and Rub-Ons are from the Farm Fresh line. I added the buttons to the flower centers with MONO AQUA and the papers were attached using our great MONO Permanent Adhesive roller. An easy, quick and WAY CUTE friendship card made in under 5 minutes thanks to the perfect pair, Tombow and October Afternoon!
