Tombow is very excited to have Hilary Kanwischer as our Guest Designer this week!
Hilary Kanwischer lives in Palm Beach, Florida, (although she considers herself a northerner at heart, being born in New York). She works as a Firefighter / Paramedic and drives a ladder truck, (which her son thinks is pretty cool). Hilary has been with her Fire Department for 19 years and thinks it’s the best job in the world.
She is also the proud mom of two kids, Courtney, (her 16 year old) and Connor, who will turn 12 in December.
Hilary got into papercrafting and scrapbooking when her daughter was 3. She recalls, “I took her to the zoo and I wanted to scrapbook her trip and after walking into a scrapbook store I was hooked and I’ve never looked back.”
She has had the greatest pleasure designing for some amazing companies along my journey and most currently is a designer for Sizzix and Emma’s Paperie. She has been fortunate also to have had her work published in BH&G Scrapbook etc, Somerset Memories, and Scrapbook Trends’ various publications including “Handmade”, “Cards”, “Holidays”, Scrapbook Trends”, “Mini Albums” and “Christmas Cards”.
Hilary would describe her style as “homespun, with a vintage touch”. She loves anything vintage, rustic and shabby…and loves distressing, sewing and buttons. She also loves Holidays, Vermont, snow, and all things Christmas! Hilary says, “I swear I could keep my house decorated for Christmas, all year round. I am also madly in LOVE with my sewing machine and my mom couldn’t be happier that I just pieced together and finished my first quilt.”
Hilary also told us “I am so thrilled to be the guest designer for Tombow this month, I just couldn’t be more excited…and I hope I’ve inspired you with my Halloween projects.”
