Colorful Hippie Ghost

Hi Tombow Friends! This is Jennie Garcia. In this post, I’m going to show you how easy it is to make a hippie ghost!

Supplies:

Step #1: Create a stand for your ghost.

Use aluminum foil to create a ball, this will determine the size of the ghost’s head. To hold the ball, I stuck a pencil on it. I wrapped the pencil with aluminum foil so it wouldn’t get dirty.

Step #2: Cut a circle.

To make the ghost, I used a scrap piece of fabric. You can also use scraps of clothing that might end on the trash because they have a stain or something that can’t be repaired. If you are a fabric enthusiast, you may have lots of fabric scraps you can mix and match to create a cute spooky hippie ghost family!

The circle does not have to be perfect. I folded a square of fabric in fourths and then I cut from corner to corner making an eight-inch circle.

Step #3: Apply Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue.

Cover your table with something to protect your surface. I used packaging that I was going to throw out. Use the broad tip of the Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue to spread glue on the back of the fabric circle. Make sure that it is completely saturated.

Step #4: Hang your fabric.

Hang the saturated circle over the aluminum ball and pencil. Mold the fabric so it’s even on all sides and create one smooth side for the face. A little bit of the Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue will drip, so make sure you use the same surface cover you used previously. The Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue is really easy to clean. If you forget to use a surface cover just scrape the glue. It won’t damage your surface.

Let it dry. I always wait overnight to make sure everything is completely dry.

Step #5: Give it eyes and personality.

Fold a piece of black felt and cut two ovals. Add these oval eyes with the Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue.

Every hippie ghost needs flowers! I added a little color to the center with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Then I added a little rhinestone in the middle.

Step #6: Make a tiny pumpkin! (Optional)

Grab an orange pompom! You’ll need a long orange thread. Start at the middle of the pompom and thread the pompom. Place the thread around the pompom and put the needle through, until it comes out through the top of the starting point. Pull the thread hard to create sections like real pumpkins have. Do this until you have many sections. Go over the sections you already created to create a deeper line on the sections. Once you are done, cut the thread to take out the needle. Leave a long piece of thread to tie it a few times.

You can use the Tombow Dual Brush Pens to stain a toothpick to create a stem for the pumpkin.

Add a drop of the Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue to the top of the pumpkin to place the stem. I put my hand inside of the ghost to hold the pumpkin. Put glue on the sides of the pumpkin and press for a minute. Place the ghost to the side to let the glue dry.

A little behind the scenes secret: sometimes I do a quick mini version of my project to make sure it’s going to work out. I was mainly testing this fabric and technique. Once I was done with the bigger ghost I made for this post, I had to include this mini hippie ghost!

Of course, she needed a mini pumpkin with a smaller pompom. She is holding it under one arm.
