I’m A Fan! – Olympic Week with Jennifer Priest 7

This week on the Tombow USA Blog, the Design Team is creating our own Olympics and we invite you to come and play along with us. There are prizes to be won!

Each day from today thru Friday each of the Designers will highlight a certain Tombow product. We invite you to play along using that product. I have GOLD on my mind. And, on a whole other front in my life, I have been reading about sustainability and making things that matter. One of the biggest things that cardmakers battle is the idea that the recipient of the card will be throwing it away. I hide my eyes and cringe at the thought but we all know it happens.

With both of those things in mind, gold medals and sustainable greeting cards, I created this “I’m a Fan” card:

I used some of Tombow’s Craft Collection Adhesive to make this card “live on”. I created the “medal” with Tombow’s 3D Foam Tabs and attached it to the card with Tombow’s Fastener Tabs. 

These hook and loop style tabs allow the medal to be removed and used as an embellishment, hung on a memo board, or hung on a card rearview mirror. I used Tombow’s Power Bond Adhesive Runner to add a golden cord bow to the medal for a whimsical effect. A Tombow marker was used to add an accent to the stamped card base. 

This type of card can be created for a teacher, great student, or star athlete — just change the image on the “medal” to match the theme. And don’t forget to use Tombow’s Fastener Tabs to make the medal removable. This card would be great as a thank you or recognition for someone who you appreciate or admire. Someone you’re a “fan” of!
