Hi Tombow friends! It’s Dani from @popfizzpaper sharing a journal spread perfect for setting yourself up for success in the new year! Last year I chose one word to focus on throughout the year and I’m so glad I did (I chose “create”). It helped me focus on my goals and pushed me forward to accomplish them. Today I’m sharing my word for 2018, “progress,” and creating a journal spread that I can look back on all through the year. Grab your journal and let’s get started!
- Tombow TwinTone Markers (pick colors that make you happy!)
- Tombow MONO Drawing Pens in 01 and 05
- Tombow Dual Brush Pen in N75
- Ruler (optional)
SET UP THE JOURNAL SPREAD
First, letter your word of the year across your pages with the Tombow MONO Drawing Pen in 05. Next, draw 4 boxes across the bottom of your pages with the 01 MONO Drawing Pen. Add dimension to your pages by creating 3d effect boxes and adding shading with the Tombow Dual Brush Pen in N75. Finally, create two larger boxes at the top of your pages. This is the foundation of our spread.
In the first top box, write out quotes that will help you keep your word in your mind throughout the year. I switched up the colors of the Tombow TwinTone Markers to differentiate between the quotes.
Next, in the second top box, list out intentions that will focus and guide you to live your word throughout the year. These can be specific intentions you have, broader ones, or both.
DEFINITION AND WHY
Now let’s get started on the bottom boxes! First, fill out the definition of your word, being as detailed as you can. Next, write out why you chose your particular word. What do you want from your word this year? What are you hoping for by choosing to focus on it?
LET GO AND INVITE IN
Next, list the things you need to let go of to make your word come to fruition in your life this year. Finally, list the things that you will invite into your life to help you succeed with your word.
I hope you enjoyed this journal spread and that it got you thinking about your word of the year for 2018! I’m a big believer in writing down your goals and intentions and I hope that “progress” will be as successful for me as “create” was this year. Make sure to check out this post where I share 10 ways you can use the TwinTones in your planners and journals. And please tag me @popfizzpaper on Instagram if you create this spread – I would love to see! Happy New Year!
