Hi, friends! I’m Andrea Lake, and I’m beyond excited to share how I created some watercolor embellishments using two stamp sets and my favorite Dual Brush Pen Art Markers to decorate a spread in my junk journal. This layout leans more into a scrapbooking style, with layered elements and hidden journaling spots to keep it both pretty and personal.
Supplies:
- Dual Brush Pen Art Markers (133, 158, 228, 249, 277, 725, 815, 873, 912)
- MONO Adhesive Permanent
- MONO Multi Liquid Glue
- Blending Palette
- Watercolor paper
- Scrapbooking patterned paper
- Stamps, waterproof black ink, metal dies, hot foil machine and plates.
Watercoloring the Floral Stamps
I began by stamping images onto watercolor paper using waterproof black ink. Then I brought out my Blending Palette and selected a mix of greens, pinks, and oranges from my Dual Brush Pen Art Markers. Mixing the ink with water gave my flowers, leaves, and even a cute stamped drink image a beautiful, soft watercolor look.
I’ve really enjoyed using this technique throughout the year—it’s such a relaxing and satisfying way to add handmade embellishments to your projects!
Once everything was dry, I used metal dies to cut out my stamped images. I picked a couple of favorite photos from one of last year’s trips and began layering patterned papers, embellishments, and stamped pieces to build a vibrant, dimensional layout.
The combination of MONO Multi Liquid Glue and MONO Adhesive Permanent was perfect for securing everything in place, especially with all the different textures and materials I used.
I’d love to hear from you! I think I’ve asked this before, but I’m so curious—what kind of projects have you made using this watercolor stamping technique? Share your ideas and tag me so I can see your amazing creations!
With love,
Andrea Lake
