Creating an art journal page is so easy! Hey Tombow fans, it’s Mandy from @thebrewtifulword and it’s no secret that I love coffee. For this project, I wanted to show you how easy an art journal page can be. There is no right or wrong way for art journaling. Whatever you create for art goes into an art journal! I love all things coffee, especially coffee quotes. So I thought it would be fun to combine my love for coffee with a boho-inspired desert theme! Let’s gather our supplies and get started!
MATERIALS
STEP 1 – Create Desert Scene
I chose shades of brown for this art journal page, inspired by coffee of course! Using Dual Brush Pen 969 create a wave-like shape going from one side to the other, filling in the first section of sand. The ink will look “streaky” but this is perfect since it looks a lot like sand. If it’s easier for you to draw out the sand sections with a pencil beforehand, feel free!
Next use Dual Brush Pen 990 to fill in the second section of color.
For the third section of color use Dual Brush Pen 992.
Use Dual Brush Pen 947 for the fourth section of sand.
To finish the sand sections, use Dual Brush Pen 977.
STEP 2 – Monoline Lettering and Embellishments
Using the bullet tip of Dual Brush Pen N15, letter the coffee quote in a monoline style on top of the page. Monoline lettering has a consistent width for every letter. There are no thick downstrokes or thin upstrokes. The bullet tip is perfect for monoline lettering!
Next, add the embellishments around the lettering and then draw black lines following the lines of the sand to separate each color.
