Hi, Jessica from BrownPaperBunny here to show you how to create some cute holiday planner doodles. I’ve been admiring the illustrations Wanda Lopez has been creating lately, so she was my inspiration for these. Here’s what you’ll need to get started.
Supplies:
- Your planner or notebook
- Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen
- Pencil (optional)
- Tombow Fudenosuke Pastel Brush Pen 6-Pack
Step 1: Outline Your Doodles
You can either sketch them in pencil first or do what I’ve done and start with your Fudenosuke Brush Pen.
Once you’ve drawn each doodle in ink, give it a minute or two to dry fully before adding color. The Fudenosuke Brush Pen is water resistant, so you can add color over the top without worrying about it smudging or bleeding. It just needs to be dry first.
Step 2: Add Color to Your Doodles
Once your black outlines are dry, you can add some color. The Fudenosuke Pastel Brush Pens give you a fun, pastel holiday theme rather than traditional holiday colors. Plus, you can color really small details using just the tip of the brush or press down for thicker lines or color larger areas.
Step 3: Brainstorm Holiday Doodle Ideas
Write down a list of items that you associate with the holidays, and then choose your favorites to doodle. Maybe a winter hat, candy canes, ice skates, snowflakes, holiday drinks, etc.
Step 4: Play with Colors
Try blending two colors together, or try out an unusual color combination. Basically, just have fun with it!
Step 5: Use Your Doodles
Once you have a few doodle ideas, it’s time to use them in your planner. We’d love to see them, so if you share them on social media, make sure to tag @TombowUSA and @BrownPaperBunny.
