Step 1: Using the fine tip of the Dark Green marker, draw a curved line for the main stem.
Step 2: Using the brush tip, add the Dark green to the blending palette. Pick the Dark Green up from the palette with the Light Green marker using the brush tip. This will create a two-toned leaf. Step 3: Using the Teardrop stroke, add the leaves in bunches of three or five. Step 4: With the fine tip of the Dark Green marker, add curls and stems.
Step 5: With the fine tip of the Carmine marker, add the berries. Leave a tiny white
dot uncolored to create the highlight.

Step 1: For the base to create a distressed pleated flower on, punch out 1” circles from a scrap of decorative paper and coat with MONO Multi liquid Glue. Let dry completely clear. On another piece of scrap paper, make the center of the flower by gluing down a flat marble with the Multi glue. Let dry and then cut away the excess paper.
Step 2: For this technique, soft ribbons such as silks or organza ribbons work best. To distress the edge of the ribbon, run a piece of Permanent Adhesive onto a piece of scrap paper. Place the edge of the ribbon firmly onto the adhesive and then remove quickly to create the frayed edge.
Step 3: Attach the end of the ribbon to the paper circle and finger ruche the ribbon completely around. Trim off the excess ribbon. Do this for each layer you wish to create. The sample flower shows two layers, a distressed pink silk ribbon and a distressed green organza ribbon. Attach the layers together and flat marble for the center with Power Tabs.
Here’s the finished product, so sweet. You can make a pin out of this, an embelishment or anything your heat desires…I hope you enjoyed this, thanks for stopping by, I’ll see you next time witn more Tombow “Tip-niques”

Adhering Die Cuts with Tombow’s Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive
I love my die cuts; but gluing fine detailed pieces down successfully can be a challenge. My favorite technique is to use is Tombow’s Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. The dot technology
releases the adhesive only onto to the paper, with no excess adhesive on the edges or front of the die cut. Quick and easy!
Apply the dots adhesive to the back of the die cut in a few areas and on the ends of the cuts.
For small details or pieces, use the ‘stamping ‘ feature on the applicator.
Position the die cut onto your cardstock. If you are unhappy with the position, the dot adhesives let’s you pick it back up and rearrange it for up to 30 minutes. Any adhesive that is left on your surface can be easily and cleanly wiped away with your finger. Use your finger or bone folder to smooth down all the edges when you are satisfied with the arrangement.

Tombow’s Glue Pen. I especially like it for adding fur on stamped animals!
Apply the glue where you want the flocking. The glue is transparent so good overhead light and holding your head just right will allow you to see the glue. I do small areas at a time. However, the glue does not set up immediately and allows you do a decent sized area before drying.
Sprinkle on the flocking and let the glue set up for a few minutes before tapping off the excess.
Add more flocked areas until you are satisfied with the results. When completely dry, use a soft, clean brush to remove any excess flocking. The flocking gives a nice soft texture to the cardsthat can be felt. Perfect for children’s cards, cards for sight-impaired recipients or for recreating soft, matte accents on vintage cards.

MONO Aqua Liquid Glue works extremely well for adhering fine handmade papers such as thin tissue paper or other very
thin papers to cardstock, chipboard or wooden surfaces. The glue can also be applied to the top surface of the glued on papers to make them translucent.
Many different types of fine, thin papers can be used with this technique including gauzy fine Japanese papers, tissue papers, ephemera such as old dress patterns or old book pages
and thin handmade papers. For the sample shown here, I used printed tissue paper and handmade mulberry paper adhered onto printed cardstock.
Using the broad applicator, cover the surface of your paper with a thin layer of MONO Aqua. Use the brush on the applicator too smooth and even it out. Place the thin paper in position onto the cardstock.
Apply as many layers or pieces as you wish. When finished, apply a thin layer of MONO Aqua to the top of the papers. Carefully, as the thin paper is very delicate when wet, use your finger to smooth out any wrinkles. As you can see, the paper takes on a lovely translucent look.
Let the glue dry. Depending on how much you used, this may take a few hours. You can dry it immediately with a heat tool. The glue is matte when dry providing a nice finish. The cardstock
wrinkles, which is a nice effect or can be flatten when glued down to a surface with Permanent Adhesive. Glue under any overhanging pieces, or tear the edges and leave them depending on the effect you wish.
There are so many possibilities, I hope you have fun with your Fine Paper Crafting. See you again next week with more “Tip-niques”

Spooky Bat DoodleDab
To make the Spooky Bat, you need to learn how to make the Curve Stroke
with the brush tip of the Dual Brush Pen.
Spooky Bat loves to embellish a Halloween card, a frightful scrapbook page or even a ghoulish treat bag.

DoodleDab CURVE STROKE
Step 1. Start here with the point
of the brush tip and press down to start forming the stroke.
Step 2. Go in the direction of the
arrow, pushing on the brush tip a little more to make the stroke wider.
Step 3. Start to lift up the tip at
the end and off the paper to create the sharp point.
Step 4. Practice
making the curve stroke. Try making it smaller or larger.
Step 5. After you
are happy with your stroke, make it in the opposite direction! It’s a little
easier to draw the left to right curve stroke if you angle your paper slightly.

SPOOKY BAT
Step 6. Start the Spooky Bat by making two mirror-image curve strokes
Step 7. Add smaller curve strokes to each side to form the wings.
Step 8. Add tiny teardrop strokes for the ears
Step 9. Using the fine tip of the pen; add eyes, feet and little curls on
the top of the wings – makes them look a little bit more vampir-ish!
Spooky Bat can have a dotted flight path or little movement marks for their flapping wings. He also comes in
lots of spooky colors. Spooky Bat also likes to hang around the bat cave. Turn the paper upside down when drawing Spooky Bat sleeping in the cave.

I enjoyed this challenge; it reminded me of my love of Fairy Tales so I created my own little story booklet.
Some lucky little child will receive this and enjoy many hours of bedtime stories from their family! I love the new ‘Once upon a Springtime’ paper collection from Graphic 45 and wanted to do something extra special with it and this project is definitely the start of many…what’s your favorite Fairy Tale?
from the Internet (lots of sites to find classic fairy tales!) onto cream colored cardstock, trimmed them and then adhered to the pages with the Permanent Adhesive. Being able to print your own tales also gives you the opportunity to personalize the characters with the names of the children who will receive the booklet.
Then came the fun of embellishing the pages! Tiny paper flowers, rhinestones, stamped images softly colored with Irojiten Colored Pencils and glitter makes the booklet extra special. The glitter wings of the fairies and rhinestones in crowns are added using the Glue Pen and larger embellishments added with the MONO Multi Liquid Glue, Foam Tabs and the stamping feature of the Permanent Adhesive Stamp Runner.
The ribbon bellyband uses a Fastener Tab for a decorative touch that also holds the book together.
..and they all lived happily ever after….

Instead of making just one card, Idecided to make a folder full of cards for Nana Jean to use. I kept the stamped
design simple so I could make lots to fit in the matching folder.
Cards
I choose three Dual Brush Pen
colors to match the “Happy Together” cardstock from Fancy pants. The colors
include 451 Sky Blue, 526 True Blue and 076 Green Ocher. I used butterfly
stamps from Purple Onion Designs.
Using the direct to rubber technique,
color the entire image with the Sky Blue. Add the Green Ocher to the
butterfly’s body and antennae and then add the True Blue to the outside edges
of the wings. Color all the butterflies and then lightly mist with water and
stamp. This quick method gives a beautiful watercolor effect.
I also added a different greeting on
each card using the stamp set, “Great Flourishes Messages”, from Hero Arts
using the direct to rubber technique. A few brads to embellish and Foam Tabs
are added to one trimmed butterfly to give a little dimension to the design.
The panels were attached to the card with the Stamp Runner Permanent
Adhesive.
Folder
The folder to hold the cards, envelopes
and a pen was cut from a 12 x 12 piece of coordinating cardstock. The folded
edges and ribbon were adhered down with the Stamp Runner Permanent Adhesive
and the finished folder is held down with a Fastener Tab.
The front of the folder is labeled with
a hand-lettered panel using the Dual Brush Pens. The stamped butterfly
was done the same as the cards but with an added overlay stamping with a brown
stamp pad. Cut out the butterfly and adhere to the front with Foam Tabs.
The finished folder holds six cards and six envelopes.
The final touch is an added
pen. This slender and sleek pen, the Zoom 727, from Tombow is the
perfect accessory to add to this perfect Grandparent gift.

The additional tag was created from a ‘mis-stamped’ image using the same materials and techniques.
Stamped Panel: After stamping the image ‘Musical Collage’ from Hero Arts, I colored it with the Dual Brush Pens. I was unhappy with the coloring on the bird so I re stamped it, colored and cut it out. The edges were torn and edged with a dark brown Dual Brush Pen.
Nest: For the nest, I punched out a large oval and cut it in half. Cover the whole surface of the nest shape with MONO Multi Glueand let dry completely. I then used fuzzy fiber to glue down to the oval creating the nest. I trimmed any excess fiber and glued in two oval beads using the Multi glue for the eggs.
‘You are special’ Label : The fancy label was a die from Sizzix that I gave a splash background. Simply add Dual Brush Pen colors
to a piece of plastic, spray with water, and then place the label face down into the color. Let dry completely before stamping with a
entiment from “Great Flourishes Messages’ stamp set from Hero Arts. Using a craft knife cut a slit down both sides of the label and thread
through some sheer ribbon.
Assembling the card : Attaching the label and ribbon to the stamped panel with Power Tabs. Adhere the panel to the card blank with the Permanent Stamp Runner. The nest was attached in place with a Power Tab and the bird with Foam Tabs. The leaves were attached by dipping the stems into the MONO Multi Liquid Glue and then placing on the card.
‘Thinking of you’ Tag: I first stamped the ‘Musical Collage ‘stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper and discovered the paper was just a bit too rough to get a clear age. Instead of throwing it out, I used the Splash Background technique on it and the label. Using the same technique as the card I added a nest, a few custom colored flowers, leaves and fibers to complete the tag.
