can you handle one more LOVE/VALENTINE related post? i hope so, because this one is too cute to pass by.

i found the idea on Pinterest to melt crayons to create little valentime hearts. it was very easy to do, and my daughter totally loved breaking the crayons.

once i had the crayons melted down and cooled, and my clever husband printed the heart base for the card, i got to work attaching the crayon hearts. the wonderful thing about Tombow having so many different adhesives is that there is always something that will work to get the job done. for this project it was the Tombow Power Tabs! these sticky squares are strong…strong enough to hold the crayon to the cardstock without the fear of it falling off. i packaged the hearts in individual plastic bags, so they wouldn’t “draw” on each other, but once in the bag i didn’t want the crayon to come off the card and color on that. but they stayed put with the Power Tabs.

thank you Pinterest, the original creator of the heart crayon, and TOMBOW for making our Valentine’s homemade and extra special.

If you have followed me here or on my blog at all, you will know I love making these notepads. They were also a huge hit at CHA. They are so quick and easy to make, fit into your purse and the perfect size for keeping track of things our minds so easily forget (esp. as we grow older. Ü)

I used Fancy Pants papers. I love using double sided papers as it makes creating projects like this so easy. The just a note was created on my compter. I just made a sheet of them and then centered them with my circle punch and punched out. I used Mono Adhesive Permanent to adhere the papers to the notepad.

This is the first time I’ve made a tab closure. To give the tab more strength, I adhered Power Tabs to the end of the tab that went to the back, and then a Fastener Tab for the round end that goes to the front.

I hope you enjoyed this project and will give it a try.

TGIF!  This week on the Tombow blog we have been given a “Designer’s Choice” week.
I decided to share my March calendar page with you.
This page is 5″x 7″ and stands up on its own with an easel back.  I started with a base layer of kelly green cardstock and then adhered some Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock with my Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots, Roller.  Next I inked up the shamrock image from the Our Craft Lounge, Shamrock Blessings set with three different green colors of Tombow Dual Brush Pens using the thumping method to ink up the stamp and then stamped them to the bottom of the white calendar panel. I did the same thing for the flowers that I stamped in the upper left corner using the same green Tombow Dual Brush Pens and adding two tones of purple Dual Brush Pens.   Next, I cut out another piece of kelly green cardstock with the Spellbinders Nestabilities Mega Dies, Labels 17 and adhered the calendar panel to it with Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots, Roller and then attached this panel to the calendar base popped up with Tombow Foam Tabs.  The sentiment was also inked up with the Dual Brush Pens and stamped onto some white cardstock.  I cut the sentiment panel and background layer with my Spellbinders Nestabilities Die-Petite Ovals set and popped it up onto the calendar with Tombow Foam Tabs.  The two shamrocks were cut from the new Memory Box Lucky Leaves dies, embossed with clear embossing powder with a touch of Glitter Ritz Warm Highlight glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs and adhered to the calendar with Tombow Mono Multi.

Did you know?

This week at Tombow is Designer’s Choice and since I love making layouts all I needed was a photo. The other day I was going through some High School pictures and thinking about how things were back then. So I made this layout documenting some of my favorite things at the age of 15.

I matted all the patterned paper with black cardstock using my Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Sometimes I like to use double mat like in the picture and the journaling card. For the banner I used my Tombow Foam Tabs to emphasize the title and birds.  I used my Tombow Dual Brush Pens to doodle on the blocks of patterned paper including the base. The little Attention Man is one of the icons of the Cricut Imagine that I cut and printed. I thought that it was a bit too bland a little boring and I used my Tombow Dual Brush Pens to make him more snazzy. I used a page of a Roll Book for part of the title and to journal. I used my Tombow Dual Brush Pens to stamp the red flowers on the title. I also used some Twine and to keep the bow in place I used the Mono Aqua Liquid Glue. I matted the Roll Book page and added a little bit of patterned paper to make a nice journaling card. For each topic I used some bling as a bullet point. Using my Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive I made a pocket with the journaling tag to put a shipping tag inside, in case I remember more things. The hand is also from the Imagine and I also used the #025 Light Orange to color some details like that fine string on the finger.

Tombow Dual Brush Pens are a great way to add detail to some pieces that may be a little simple.

I hope you liked my layout!!

Sometimes we hold onto supplies long enough that they become the perfect thing we need to finish a project. such as it was this time with this vellum quote…”truly, madly, deeply”. luckily i had on hand my Tombow MONO Clear Adhesive Runner. take a close look…can’t see it can you. i love giving close ups on vellum and transparency projects, because the adhesive is quite invisible.

the rest of the layout was put together with Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive Runner and the journaling was done with Dual Brush Pen # N25.

This week on Tombow our challenge was Designer’s Choice. These are my favorite challenges. Ü It gives us the creative license to really shine and show what we like to do the most.

I thought I would share one of the most popular make n takes I taught at CHA. This was the first time (of course it was only my second time at CHA and first time teaching what I had designed. LOL) that I had a line of gals waiting to take my classes.

For this make-n-take, we altered a composition notebook. Here is a pee at the front. We also added papers inside the front and back covers as well as covered the back. You can see more details and pictures on my blog.

Here is a close-up of the fabric flower made using Tombow’s Mono Multi and Power Tabs:

And a closer view of the tabs using Mono Adhesive Permanent (put them on the first page and every 20 after that:

I hope this project inspired you to try altering a composition notebook or any kind of notebook.

Thank you for stopping by,

This is a great project for children and teens. There is a really nice YouTube presentation of traditional black and white friendship bracelets – this is a colorful Tombow version using the Dual Brush Pens.

Start by cutting strips 8 ½” x ¾” from ordinary cover stock paper. You will also need to cut ¾” strips from overhead transparencies or other clear plastic sheet.

Choose your Dual Brush Pen colors – the best color combinations are those that are close together on the color wheel – some suggestions include:  Greens and Blues: 195 Light Green, 373 Sea Blue, and 565 Deep Blue, Pinks and Purples: 725 Rhodamine Red, 665 Purple, and 606 Violet, Oranges and Reds: 933 Orange, 725 Rhodamine Red and 815 Cherry.

Draw the designs onto the paper strip – you can get lots of design ideas from the Zentangle Books from Design Originals.

Use the Dual Brush Blender Pen and blend all the colors together. Let dry.

With Clear Adhesive apply two strips of adhesive to the top of the colored paper strip. Place the clear strip over and rub firmly with a bone folder.

Trim the bracelet to a ½” strip and to a length to fit around your wrist.  Cut a Fastener Tab in half and apply to the ends of the bracelet. It’s now ready to wear and share with friends!

This is such a fun project, I hope you enjoyed it and hope you share this with all your friends and tean that enjoy making their own Frienship bracelets.Until next time…

Happy Crafting…

This week on the Tombow Blog, the design team is focusing on working with some of the fine art pencils that Tombow carries.  I have created two cards using the Irojiten Color Dictionary Pencils.
These beautifully crafted pencils are grouped in nine different editions with subtle color ranges in each assortment. Available in 90 colors, these premium quality pencils have an elegant enamel finish and are packaged in unique paper booklets with three editions per set – Pale, Vivid and Deep Tone. Ten pencils per edition
For this card, I stamped the pretty outline flower/leaf from the Our Craft Lounge Pretty Petals set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and then colored them in using some of the green, yellow and orange pencils in the Irojiten Seascape set.  I blended the pencils out with some odorless mineral sprits and then glitzed the flowers up a bit with some Diamond Stickles. I stamped Happy Birthday from the Our Craft Lounge Big Birthday Wishes set in black ink onto a scrap of blue print cardstock and layered it to the front of the card using Tombow Foam Tabs.  I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots, Roller to adhere all of the layers together and a Tombow Power Tab to fasten the button to the front of the card.

Using the same Irojiten Seascape set for this card I stamped the Classic Fabric Background from Hero Arts in Alabaster Fluid Chalk ink onto some black cardstock and then colored over the white areas with the pencils.  After I was finished coloring, I spritzed the black panel with some pearl shimmer spray.  It is so pretty in person!  The aqua panel is raised up with some Tombow Foam Tabs and the rest of the card was secured together with Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots, Roller

The theme for this week is “Pencil Me In” and I came across this awesome Digi Stamp and I just had to try it. I am trying to pile up some cards for Operation Write Home and I thought that this card would work great for the cause.

I love Tombow Dual Brush Pens they are unbelievable easy to blend, take it from me, when it comes to coloring I am kind of a newbie.  I really wanted to use that green conversation bubbles patterned paper but I didn’t want the girl to blend in the green. So I made this pattern and put it together with my Stamp Runner. For my cute girl I paper pieced the pencil and I used Tombow Foam Tabs to give it some pop and I also used Tombow Foam Tabs on the whole girl. Since this is an easel card I need that bottom piece to hold the card. If you knew that I would use Tombow Foam Tabs you are absolutely right. For the sentiment I did some double matting, which I love to do with sentiments because it gives it a little bit extra detail. I used twine tied to the red brads so I used the small Tombow Foam Tabs on the corners to lift it without interfering with the twine. To hold the twine and bling in place I used the Mono Aqua Liquid Glue.

Here you can see all the Dual Brush Pens I used. I love my Foam Tabs they are super durable and for this cause we need tough adhesive.

I hope you liked my card!!

Take Care!!
